Yep, but if the goalie could shutout the other team, then your team only needs one goal. In that situation, the goalie might matter!

I don't care who starts in net, if they play like that it won't matter. The Pens look tired, they need some fresh legs in there. I don't know who you can bring in, but I would take a serious look at Sprong. You have 3 goals in 3 games, something needs to give. I think Daley is done, and he should be. I am not a fan of Streit, but Daley has been awful. I pray Schultz can play in game 4, but him not practicing today isn't a good sign.

Daley actually had a pretty decent game. You can tell because if he hadn't, he'd have been in the blog. But he and Maatta had strong possession numbers and didn't have the types of gaffes that many of the other defensemen did. One game, but it was somewhat encouraging because he's been bad all playoffs but they really need him.

That was probably their best pairing last night. Dumoulin and Hainsey couldn't get out of their own end. The rotating 3 man 3rd pair had nice underlying numbers but were out there for 3 goals and had several costly mistakes. Cole had a real rough game.

There is no good answer. I think Dumo and Cole and then Rhuwedel and Maatta have been the best D of the remaining. But all of them but Rhuwedel play left D. I think those are the right 6 D at this time. Have some offensive minded D with a more defensive minded on each line. Spread out the puck movers. Streit did well, I thought. The coaches did a good job of spreading the D minutes last game, I'm sure they could protect Streit by putting him on the PP & giving him less Even Strength minutes.

I did hear though that Daley was practicing with the first PP today.

We can't rely on speed as we are so dinged up on O and D. MAF has not been real good on the road and was rattled after the firs time goal and never recovered. It's been his Achilles heel all of his career. He has been great for the most part but the next game decides the series. Are you sure he gives you the best chance to win after what just happened? I'm not so sure.

I've been stunned with how bad Sheary has been. I mean sometimes players have a stretch of bad games and you can see signs of them turning it around but I don't see that in Sheary at all. There was a play last night where he got a good look and just shot it into Anderson's chest. I was hoping if he scored there it would give him some much needed confidence. He has none right now. It's too bad because he had a terrific regular season.

Since Wilson has returned to the lineup he has been supplying a lot of energy. He's played well. More noticeable than some of the bigger names on the team lately.

At practice MAF manned one net, while Murray and Jarry shared the other. Maybe that doesn't mean anything, but I think he's going with MAF.
