Well most teams would want pulock or barzal at the deadline and I wouldn't part with them for a rental. If we were that player away from the cup sure
- Upstate_isles

You rarely see trades of that level at the deadline.

Oh now it's OK to go shopping on the trash heap, but only if it turns out to be successful. Moulson/PAP were good moves but Snow should be blamed for Prince/Quine? Come on, you can't just look back and make hindsight-based judgement.

And "as for Martin Hanzal" go look at the MIN GM saying that he regrets making that move now. That's what you get when you buy into the deadline-day hype. Regret. Most of the teams that are considered "winners" on deadline day don't win the Cup, FYI.

It's OK to take that leap of faith you mentioned when you're trying to add that one piece that you think will help propel you to winning the Cup, but the Islanders are not that team right now. He should only be concerned with adding future pieces that are under contract, not rental players that will cost us a good prospect and then some. That isn't how you build a winning team.

- eichiefs9

You're damn right this isn't how you build a winning team. This team hasn't won shat since he became GM. Might as well keep doing the same thing and expect a different result that usually works. This is our big year

"He has to do something."

Love hearing the same shat every season.

The bonzo trade proposals being made for Duchene on this thread were worse than what Sakic was asking. That's a bad example. The funny thing is some of the dim wits on this thread saying Garth is sly not doing anything we're the (frank)8ng morons ready to trade any good prospect we had along with a couple decent players. This thread has gone full Tanner the last year.

I do know that Chiefs that I were saying we shouldn't trade prospects for a rental back then and Duchene would be nice but not for three players and a pick. I'd like to see another winger for jt and Lee and I'd like to see barzal and pulock up. That's a good start and maybe another move to add scoring depth. Hard to really guess at what will happen with expansion draft, just hoping we are active and not in a bad way

Normally the big trades during the deadline don't work I agree with the both of you. It's the little insignificant ones that have a positive effect sometimes. I'm not one for trading the farm for anyone or anything especially during the deadline but the defense of Snow's complete inaction is laughable. You can't keep doing the same thing and this team needed a little boost obviously. Normally you don't have to give up barzal and Pulock for a little boost and if anyone here thinks this team missing the playoffs this past season is insignificant they don't have a clue. It only furthers the shat culture this team has and to write it off as a reboot to me is pure stupidity.

I love this line:

Richardson was well-regarded in the Senators organization — he coached a healthy portion of the current Sens roster that is two wins away from reaching a Stanley Cup Final.

Honestly speaking The Senators haven't seen success because of Richardson and the old regime, I'm thinking Boucher had a lot to do with their current success

I like the Richardson hire, but Boucher is the reason for the Sens success. Boucher is another coach the Isles missed out on in the last few years.
