Listening to your comments on the pod casts and reading your Blogs, I'm not buying it sorry. - nyisles7
He's just a hockey player for (frank)s sake.i hate Isis not Brock Nelson. Does he frustrate me? Yes. Would i move him in the right deal?? Yes. But if he is on this roster i want him to succeed. |

I do not care about other teams. It's never a good time for Garth to deal. - ses111
But if other teams aren't shooting for such a difference maker at the deadline why should we if 1(we're struggling to stay in contention) <-----(Blame Garth for not firing Cappy earlier for that reason) 2(nothing is available for the right price). Market was very dry |

I'm not talking about just trading for a difference maker at the deadline. I get it's very difficult and especially at the deadline. There had to be a useful player for Garth to pick up that would not have cost all the prospects. You have to show the team and players you are not giving up and you are trying to give them some help. |

Nope. Trust me, if a Shane Prince type of trade wasn't made, nothing was available. You're gonna see more moves right before the expansion draft. |

Exactly I am sure we could have found someone better then Prince or Quine but that is asking a lot from GArth |

Its not even worth it but like I Said there are plenty of players out there. It is just not this year either it is the past year where GArth does nothing becuase he is afraid to spare any of his babies. |

He's at least made depth trades. Kennedy and Prince come to mind. Would've liked if he traded for Budaj but the price was too high. |

Let's hope the Isles are involved in some of them. |

When Halak was still down at the time, I wanted Berube packaged for him because Quick was coming back. |

I think his point is that a lot of bad trades happen on deadline day. MIN was stupid to think that they would actually be real contenders in the West and they ended up pissing away a bunch of assets. - eichiefs9
Yeah, I was mostlly just busting his chops. I actually am NOT one of the ones advocating for trades for the sake of trades. If the trade makes sense, fine. But never trade just to appease the fans..... |

Wasn't LA the team that originally waived him? I doubt they would have done this. |

Isles could not get something good for Nelson and de Haan? Did Garth just target Duchene? Very telling the Isles are the only team that did not deal. |

Bolstering the roster for the playoffs doesn't include trading important players off of the roster.
I don't know if he "just" targeted Duchene, but if he is trying to make a trade to build the team with eyes on the future then he did the right thing not being pressured by the trade deadline. He has all offseason to add long-term talent. The trade deadline is not the day to do that. That is a day that is almost totally for adding rental players on expiring contracts. |
