I'm of the opinion that it wouldn't have mattered which party took office, it's an absolute disaster down there. The country is incredibly divided and the government doesn't do anything but bicker about politics—nothing ever gets done. - krockcfd
Oh Hillary had her issues and replucicans would have tied her hands, but no one could be as bad as trump....what a joke. Literally a day hasnt gone that he hasnt f'd up something.
I knew it was going to bad...but not like this.
ah well.

For someone from Ottawa - rather incredulous how little you know about US politics. The truth is - alot (mostly really bad) of laws, rules etc have be enacted since Trump was elected. Since the Republicans have majorities in both the House of Representatives and the Senate there is nothing to stop them from passing any idiotic law. Trump has signed more bills in the first 100 days than any President since Truman. Trump will not be impeached by his own party, therefore, in the likely event that the 2018 Senate election gives the Democrats a majority, Impeachment proceedings will likely start. This means unless he is charged and convicted criminally, and forced to resign, he will stay and keep doing what he is doing until the Senate gains a Democratic majority. - winsix
Senate is unfortunately not a guarantee either. Nobody gave Trump a chance in the presidential election, but because of the electoral college system he negated the massive Dem popular vote that occurred in blue strongholds like California.
A whole pile of states lean firmly red, and if enough of the disenfranchised show up in swing states...I mean Repubs don't even need their own majority. They just need to prevent the Dems. |

The two governing parties in the US are essentially interchangeable, yet have created a massive divide that prevents the majority from noticing that they basically all vote for the same party and demanding real change. At the same time, they have basically allowed corporate interests and the media to dictate the outcomes of elections and as it turns out, even post-election is not safe.
The sheer scale of the con job is breathtaking, and they happily participate in it. I truly wonder how much longer they can sustain. - TheTaoOfSemenko
What the general population is missing through all the smokescreens, is that Trump's presidency much the same as Putin's is about stealing money from the US and Russia. Deutsche Bank was recently fined a record $156 million US for laundering money. It was Russian money, and it would not take a rocket scientist to find out the source was Putin. The sum of money laundered was about $10 Billion, making Putin one of the richest men in the world. The CEO of Deutsche Bank at the time of this laundering was a guy named Wilbur Ross, the newly appointed US Secretary of Commerce. He helped Putin become one of the richest men on the planet and if all goes to plan will do the same for Trump.

If you look at the recent polls, Senate would change with a huge majority for the Demacracts.

?
impossible for the dems to get 60 seats in the 2018 mid-terms.
34 seats up for election: 25 current dem, 9 republican.
dems will be on the defensive. |

agreed. both parties divide on social issues which they put front and center and happily keep the ever increasing spending on the backburner. |

Current seats heald Rep 54, Dem 46
Four or five seats (of nine held by Republicans) need to be flipped from Rep to Dem to give Democrats a majority.

and they have to hold all 25 of theirs.
only 1 republican seat up for re-election is in a state won by clinton
10 dem seats up for re-election are in states won by trump
going to be challenging for the dems not to lose ground, let alone gain. |

Under normal circumstances, I would agree with you, the extraordinary, relentless negative news leaking daily about Trump might sway even his strongest supporters. We'll see if he lasts that long. Look at the video I attached above, well worth a look and you will be surprised by it's contents. |

Actually, I was born in Toronto... and now live an hour west of tornoto... Funny, the last time I checked, his own party was denying him the ability to pass some of his bills. I hope he does stay in office, that way the world can continue to see how blatantly stupid the alt left have become... With any luck they'll burn a few more universities down . |
