David Poile has been an NHL GM since 1982, never won (frank) all, that's 35 years FYI.

I like Nashville but the amount of attention they are getting is a little extreme.

As pointed out they had Sutter Weber and Hamhuis before and were no where near as good even thought they are better than what they currently have.

Foresberg Johansen Arvidsson and even Fisher. They have a well rounded team . Ottawa is another team shutting down the high octane Pens. Both teams have a solid line up from start to end . Same as the Ducks and if Pens had Letang it could be a whole lot different.

All four teams solid down the middle and good back end.

We can not be chasing a style. We need a plan and we need patience and most of all we need to keep drafting high end D and C .

I got a little annoyed with those tards on TV talking about David Poile, the guy has NEVER drafted a number one center in 35 years, you can't be a good GM and have that on your plate.

He's traded for a couple though, I'll give him that.

A chimpanzee could creat a new site called HockeyFuzz and destroy Eklund. As long as Carol joined HockeyFuzz of course. His incompetence is staggering

That Forsberg trade is probably one of the worst trades in the past 10 years.

I don't know, perhaps I see it differently. In hindsight does it look bad, sure, however, McPhee acquired the pick to draft Forsberg by trading Varlamov to Colorado. A trade that was nearly unanimously hailed as a great one for Washington.

In 2013 the Caps had a good team and a bunch of prospects, McPhee obviously felt like they were in a position to make a playoff push. It didn't work out, but it's hardly held the Capitals back, they've had three great years since that 2013 TDL.

Who wrote this? Interesting, if that's how he's perceived by the Swedish team considering he's always been soft as a pillow for us

Yeah, Buffalo would laugh us out of the building if we offered that.
- stringerbell

Seriously?

Why would we give up assets for a guy with a bad attitude on an expiring deal that we can get for free in a year.

I was just just thinking this... can't remember what Nashville traded for him, was it Orlov? Some terrible Russian defenceman straight up for Forsberg if I remember right.

Garth Snow has made some bad trades, so probably not worst.

Apparently (via thescore) Ralph Kreuger has turned down 2 different coaching offers from the NHL.

Probably laughed once they talked salary, soccer is so crazy.

If Forsberg and Brouwer are on the team this year instead of Oshie does it make any difference in how far the Caps go?

Martin Erat and Michael Latta,

Latta has played something like 40 games in the NHL

Forsberg probably would have drained a few against Pittsburgh and a lot of games were 1 goal games, but Pittsburgh's obliterated defence didn't have much trouble against Ovie/Oshie so who knows
