Don't know how solid Laraque sources are, but if they really decided to trade Galchenyuk, they are going to get fleeced. They are not getting a better player in return, unless it's Galchenyuk++ which would end up being even worse.

They'd probably charge you an extra 20$ at the Bell Centre and also at my bar for this

It's written in the stars man.

Galchenyuk for Duchene, spare parts surrounding the deal.

It's too obvious not to happen!

Honestly a one for one swap of Galchenyuk for Duchene would be good for both teams.

I went and asked Avs fans about their opinion on this.

I really feel like it makes sense for both teams but I may be biased.

Galchenyuk wouldn't be the first talented young player who falls into the "I'm a 21 year old superstar in this city"

I've been saying it for months, Galchenyuk is not making the right decisions off the ice and isn't being serious about becoming the best hockey player possible.

I'm disappointed in how things are turning out and maybe he switches his focus back to hockey..... but trading him doesn't sound too dumb either.

It all depends on what you get back. Do you really trust Bergevin to not get fleeced? At best he breaks even...so why take that gamble?

I agree, I"d trade Beaulieu so Chucky can concentrate on hockey. If he doesn't you trade him too but next year.

Kind of agree with that.

But Duchene for Galchenyuk is kind of written in the stars...I'd like them to get Duchene+ though because Galchenyuk is younger and still RFA while there's no guarantee Duchene won't walk for nothing in 2 years. Don't think MB can pull that off.

i think it would be the other way around. i think Galchenyuk alone wouldn't be enough, even with Duchene coming off a brutal season. they give you similar offense but the other aspects of their game aren't comparable in that Galchenyuk doesn't have any.

It was rumored (Kypreos I think) that Sakic wanted Galchenyuk, Sergachev and a 1st round pick for Duchene. Apparently he told the Habs he wasn't interested in any package that wouldn't at least include Sergachev...can't be real.

Or he also does snorting contests in his spare time.

That deal is just (frank)ing insane, I'd expect a lot more for that package.
