Agreed.
I want to see a Vet backup for Markstrom next year for reasons already stated.
Provide some support for Marky and hold the fort when he is injured/resting as well as providing stability for the team.

I'd be happy with Niemi/Lehtonen or Steve Mason, Reto Berra, etc.
Whoever is cheap and/or can be flipped for assets at the TDL.

I'd honestly rather try Bachman for the year

Not me.
I agree with the old timer.
Need stability in net for this team with its lack of scoring ability.

Yeah got to agree can't go with Bachman as back up for the whole season. Recipe for pain and developmental jeopardy.

Why not Try to get Condon he played 40 games with Ott, .914 sv made $575k! Even if you tripled it to $1.75m he's younger and you know he'd share the load with Marky.

Chiarelli nominated for GM of the year.

Picking McDavid must have been so difficult.

Lehtonen is terrible, Niemi was good 7 years ago.

We can get a comparable goalie for half the salary, and flip him at the deadline, I want neither.

- Crazybagoham

The point is to get a draft pick, goalie is secondary.

Sure. Not seeing any signs JB will be making moves to get more draft picks. But he's surprised before. Perhaps he will by the real trade deadline day. You know the entry draft. The expansion draft also has activity around it. We saw two goalie moves by teams so far to avoid a loss.

I think JB has something up his sleeve.
The TDL will also be interesting where as maybe the time to unload Edler.

The lead up to the e-draft & the e-draft itself will be interesting indeed.

Need to finish bottom 3 . Top picks every round.

Give back CBJ their second for Korpisalo and never have to worry about goaltending for the next 12 years or we could use their draft pick and hope to pick someone up at 56 in a weaker draft and hope he makes the NHL.

Flagged myself.

certainly not multiple 1sts for years down the road when u know you'll suck. what kind of gm does that. how does he get that job in the first place. as an owner I woulda pulled an Aquaman and nixed that in a heartbeat.

Hard to play a guy injured 3/4s of the year
- Crazybagoham

So he missed 20 games? Doesnt mean they couldnt have played him more. When he was healthy how many times did he play more than 2 consecutive games? The answer is 3 times, and those were when Miller was hurt. He was a pure backup last season, now getting paid $90k less than Matt Murray and $150k more than Vasilevsky

Not being sarcastic.

Remember end we had an elite starting goalie and as elite backup goalie? Got us to the cup final, too bad our elite 3c was blinded.... stupid puck luck. I still think of we hadn't lost Luc, RIP,we would have won.

losing luc was a real blow to the club. Our first top 10 pick for a long stretch after the Sedins. and he was coming along nicely. Poor guy.
