What about trading RNH or Eberle for Seabrook? - ToewsdNKanefusd
Even if they were willing (which they certainly wouldn't be) he's almost a 7 mil per hit for the next 7 years with a NTC in his last two. Absolute albatross for a team that will have to sign two big time centers to big time contracts in the next couple years. Uh no. |

Unless they make some unheard of trade then the only real option for a RHD would be to sign Shatty in July and no thanks. Let someone else give him massive dollars and term and lie in their bed of shame and regret. |

That's going to one of the worst contracts in the league the last few years of it. |

well...the first three paragraphs were interesting...
I know some people like it but you lose me every time with the calculus. This is hockey. Larsson wasn't mediocre and Russell was fantasic for us.
Hopefully the Oilers' backoffice uses these numbers to negotiate down his contract...when they sign him...for 3or4yrs. |

I think its time to move on from McDavid. You could probably get a first and can start rebuilding. I offer up Calgary's 1st.
You guys ad a good run but its time to face reality.

You're not getting Jankowski and their 1st for McDavid. That 1st would have to be changed to a 2nd, or most likely a 3rd. |

Anyone who suggests that Larsson wasn't the best player on the Oilers this season can go directly to hell (and likely will). Russell is good, and I like him. |

Dude, I was being serious. But if you think I would give up our best asset. ou future Joel Otto for anything beside Larsson you need help. |

Look to the future. I know Mcdavid is rough and needs some AHL development, but I think he'll be a big time piece in the future. |

Green ain't your colour
He'll only be 29 all next year.
Already had a 50 point season for us.
added the cementhead behemoth game we asked.
Helped us make a run in his first year
His first season was nothing short of a homerun.
A few more seasons like that and I'll happily take a couple anchor years at the backend. And there's really no guarantee that's the case anyway. He'll only be 34 at the very end and guys like backes are still contributing positively at 33. |

Blown away with how many people think that was a bad contract... I'm just going to chalk it up to them being stupid idiots, and not realizing how young the guy actually is. Then they'll come back with blah blah blah he'll have injuries over the next 6 years... lol the guy barely missed a game due to injury so far in his career... And he doesn't play a crazy style that'll lead to injuries either... That's another misconception. Also, those who think it was a bad contract need to suck it!

He's a pretty polarizing player so he has his haters to begin with. Plus, it's no coincidence that two of our biggest rivals and the two teams that he reportedly spurned In favour of edm (van/cgy) are often the fan bases most critical of the deal. And fans HOPING it turns out bad of course, and implying it's fact already..
And the bolded too. Really good point.
He's a beast no doubt but he doesn't run around like kassian for example.
he picks his spots and often uses his size in front moreso than for pure violence
Generally speaking, It wasn't till later in the season in bigger games and the playoffs actually where he really started throwing his weight around on a more regular basis |
