Sam + Kane for Nino and Dumba
- sbroads24

might have to be sam+8, bringing kane in would force them to expose another forward no?

and I dont know that they can afford to re-sign him long term.

Don't know much about this guy but he sounds good...

According to HV71 of the Swedish Hockey League, Andreas Borgman is leaving the club for an NHL contract.

It isn't clear yet where Borgman is heading. Borgman was named the league's rookie of the year after he recorded five goals, 15 points and a plus-23 rating in 45 games. The 21-year-old bluelinder added two goals and eight assists in 14 playoff games to help HV71 claim the SHL's championship title.

he was terrible for them. have to think that experiment is over unless they cant find anyone in FA/trade.

Even then id just give more minutes to nurse/benning. Hopefully they hold their own long enough till sekera is back.

again, wouldn't surprise me if he was dealt. if you dont think he can be that guy, maybe he can be the trade piece needed to get that guy.

Edit: Also, that projected line up puts you in the hunt for Dahlin

I still wouldn't move him, unless it's for a stud D man.

I just am fascinated by the divide amongst people in reference to him

Not clear whether Krueger would even be available or interested in the Sabres' coaching job, but new GM Jason Botterill wants to talk to him

How much money did he get whilst in jail?

Usually you're not continually paid a salary when granted early release.

he would have been more useful if he knocked out a few license plates while he was here.

Some tidbits from an outside perspective

ZEROES

- sbroads24[b
]Dmitry Kulikov
– It was immediately a questionable decision when the Sabres dealt Mark Pysyk to Florida for Kulikov, and after Kulikov’s terrible season, there were no questions remaining.

Rasmus Ristolainen
– He may be wonderfully talented, but the Sabres’ rearguard has to generate better numbers when he’s on the ice, because if a player is really so talented then he shouldn’t be getting caved in on a regular basis.

Tyler Ennis
– Coming back from injury, the small and skilled winger managed just five

Ouch

"
Sam Reinhart
is a skilled forward who can be a nice complementary piece in Buffalo and under most circumstances that would be fine. It’s a little different when Reinhart was the second pick in the 2014 Draft, taken one spot of Edmonton’s Leon Draisaitl. That sticks out a bit as a missed opportunity because while Reinhart is a contributor, he does not appear to be a future star"

Double ouch

Gone, Keep, let Vegas take him, trade while we can still get value in return

Here is the hard truth:

Eichel needs to sign and it will be a big contract.
Reinhart also needs to sign and will command 4m per year, ( say deal him and let someone else pay his pro contract)
Rodrigues may pan out this year and will need to be signed

If by some miracle we could free up Moulson, Ennis, Bogos, salaries, keep Gionta on the cheap and I mean very cheap, and use our extra 2nd and 3rd we have in this draft as trade bait, we might just land the Dman (or Dmen) and winger we need. I have a feeling GMTM would have made a big splash at the draft this year. It will be interesting to see what we do under more of a chess player.

Who knows anything about Todd Reirden?

Edit: I know he spent time with the Pens and Caps recently and is a defensively minded coach. Is he good, bad or ugly though...haven't heard of him before.
