why do people keep bringing up Del Zotto as a possible Vegas target? He's a UFA so I thought he doesn't count towards the expansion draft? Am I just flat wrong there?

They could sign him in the small window after the protection lists are submitted before the ED, and then he would count as the one player taken from the Flyers.

I don't know why Vegas would do that when they will be able to select one of several cheap Flyers forwards who can be plugged straight into their bottom 6, but it's possible.

Other teams can come in and make an offer and either outbid you for a player you like or drive up the cost.

It really is ridiculous. I try to unblock the sites I visit most often so they generate ad revenue, but this site just makes it impossible

Is the plan for the expansion draft that we won't see the list? Or do we get a sneak peak? And Vegas is only going to announce their choices at the awards show? If they can truly trade around not selecting people or selecting people to flip to other teams, those trades would be fascinating but it sounds like they aren't going to be very public.

Realistically I expected to make the playoffs. I thought we were a better team this year than last. Provorov improved us. I wasn't comfortable with Konecny make the leap right out of camp but he earned it. Think this is going to be the biggest offseason in three to four seasons when speaking of transition. As big, if not bigger since trading away Carter and Richards. I think the tough decisions need to be made right now. Unfortunately I don't like the direction of goaltending right now today. I can live with the Bellemare signing because he just grabs me as the ultimate teammate and frankly I think the writing is on the wall to move Scott Laughton. By next season, I expect to be one of the youngest teams in league. Live and die with whoever earns a spot on defense, fresh out of camp. Sign nobody this summer on defense. Whether it's Nolan Patrick or Nico Hischier, I think both will find their way into the NHL, whether it's here or New Jersey. As excited as I am for the draft, I can't wait to see who Vegas chooses from this mess.
