What if the Stars and Avs take D and the Sabers who want D offer to move up so the Yotes don't take last of the top 3 left? Would charging then E.Kane be worth it. Send Subban back to balance out? Sabers have a lot of young wingers in the minors ready to move up. Kane only a year before UFA. Not likely to sign. So draft scenario would be:

NJ- Nico
Flyers- Nolan
Stars- Heiskanen
Avs- Liljegren
Sabers- Makar*****trade to Sabers Subban & 5OA
Vegas- Vilardi
Yotes- Mittlestadt
Nucks- Glass ***** trade to Nucks E.Kane & 8OA

Nucks get just starting prime top 6 scoring power forward and top 6 Center. Then can draft D in second round to develop.

Would take Gudbranson over tanev any day of the week. This team lacks toughness, especially on the back end. Plus tanev will have the bigger return
- phyllee

trade em all!

i want a solid back end, but i'm leaning more towards mobility and speed and ability to transition the puck rather than traditional toughness.

I like Guddy and look forward to him being healthy, i'm just feel our team approach is stale and i prefer an uptempo approach.

I kid, i kid.
It was more a comment on how some say JV needs to play in the AHL to learn how to be a pro and comparing that to how Gauce has gone that traditional route, without a lot of success...now that i've had to explain my attempt at a 'joke', it's not all that funny.

As an aside, i got no problem with a kid wanting to party.
Just needs to be able to bring it come game time.

- dbot

On one hand, I agree. We expect pro's, much like our politicians, to be these well behaved saints. When really, it just comes down to whether you get the job done. I guess for me, it has more to do with thinking that it effected his ego/game then actually caring what he does when not at work.

On the otherhand, it seems like character is what the organization is looking for, if so I think you wait on bringing him back so that he's out of the limelight.

He's singled out because it seems like ages since we drafted and developed a forward that could make an impact in the game...besides Bo i suppose.

So many guys have tried out for that 3rd/4th line role and cannot seem to sustain it.
Maybe we need to change our approach to filling out a team and forget about these big guys that play good defensively, but don't hit.

i'd prefer we switch to a speedster approach.
What's the Mar, you want a model??
We'll call it the Ottawa model.

Fast team, stud D and great goaltending.

Draft a D, Trade Gudbranson, sign Grabner and let's go.

- dbot

Grabner was a good draft pick for us and Schroeder made an NHL career.

Once Sedins and Edler are gone you will see this team take a new look and Gudbrandson and Sutter might be needed for a couple of years.

Hit or score. He is a forward so being purely a defensive specialist won't cut it. It's pretty simple, develop a scoring touch or play a physical, grinding style. If not? Have fun riding busses kid
- CanuckDon

If you got rid of forwards that don't hit or score our line up cards would be under ten every game

Outback Steakhouse makes a great rib steak also.

Don't forget to visit Cabo Wabos to support Sammy Haggar

- VANTEL

They make a good blooming onion thats about it. Sorry Vantel but almost every other steakhouse in Vegas is better by 1000% than the outback.

My wife wants to take a party bus from PG to Seattle for the series. What a poopshow that would be.

Don't get me wrong I am not saying it is bad but when you're in Vegas and you can get the best steak in the world at like 10 different restaurants you don't go outback. You go to Hugo's or n9ne or one of the other high end spots. I am not rich but when I do a holiday I do it right.

We go to both . We do the high end ones where we are paying 300 a meal and later that week we will go to Outback and have one for half the cost.

Come on, now that the Canucks have hired Green (next year Jack Adams winner), everyone will have to find something else to complain about.

Gaunce, Tanev, Edler, Gudbranson, Stecher, Beiga, Sibsa, are all going to be hitting machines, Subban will lead the D in offense. No need for a stud D.
Miller is going to be Vezina Trophy material. Sedins will be 80 point players with the highlight of Daniel speed bagging Marchand.
Sutter will be 65% in the faceoffs and 65 pts to end the season. And finally Eriksson will be the scoring leader of the league.

Well if you look at it contract wise it's docked and ready for offers.

If the Sabers don't sign him now in off season. He's gone. They probably have to throw stupid $ at him. Given all the wingers they have to make room for he's likely trade bait. Problem is any team taking him won't give up much unless he sign's long term with them. So who's willing and able to do that, for him, to say I do?

How so? NJ are desperate for a C to play with Hall. Nico or Nolan is their hard choice. Philly will take left overs as they need top 6 C as well.

Then they lose the D man they want. Take on another C or Winger which they don't need. Plus lose Kane to free agency. Yup that's too much of a price.
