I wonder if he becomes the next David Pastrnak - manvanfan
I doubt he lasts that long...that said I do think there a good group of euro's that will be interesting in the 1st round.
Personally I think some team is going to get a star in Tolvanen in the middle of the draft. |

Okay they can cause of no waiver risk. But if they are ready. Like we are talking about 20-22yr olds here. What's the issue? Plus do Nucks really have much to sell that's not part of the rebuild?
Are you hoping for a pump and dump of other players? You realize in the cap tight NHL this is a highly limited move. It's almost getting to be like winning a lotto position in finding a trade partner to take your scraps. Most plugs wind up with no takers at TDL.
Also, Detroit didn't sign plugs to keep players in the minors. They had a stable of good vets so had no spots to integrate a rookie. What Canucks were in place to do before 2014 but drafted poorly after integrating Kesler, Bieksa, Burrows and Hansen. - Nuck4U

Pedersson might have the slickest hands out of anyone and is 6'2. |

I have been saying for awhile now, Glass, Vilardi or Necas will be who I hope are targeted at 5.
Necas has played wing also.
Nucker101 brought his name up a few months back and I followed up on him as best I could. I would be happy with any of 3 above mentioned

All this speculation bores the crap out of me, we need something REAL to talk about. |

I don't know why is Kapanen still in the minors? Why did Nylander go back after being a PPG player? Why would Toronto do that?
I realize that in a cap tight NHL that Toronto was able to have $10 in contracts in the minors.
Drew Stafford, P.A. Pareanteau got 6th round picks.
Jarome Iginla a conditional 4th. Dwight King a 4th.
Viktor Stalberg a 3rd.
Tomas Jurco a 3rd
Ron Hainseys a 2nd
Vern Fiddler a 4th.
Clearly it's hard to find people to take old scraps. - manvanfan
You changed that up with using old star players as examples to scraps when I thought we were talking about plug scraps (Skille & Megna type). Or maybe there is a definition misunderstanding here. Anyway, we can agree to disagree.
The market is tight at TDL. Very specific needs and moves are made in a measured way. Taking on a strategy to sign plug UFA's to trade off at TDL is a risky affair. To do that just to keep players who are ready to play in the NHL off the roster just seems counter to development. The type of invoking a new culture and way to play. Which is what I thought the rebuild under a Green is supposed to be about.
Anyway, it's fine your point may have worked for other teams. I agree to disagree that's what the Canucks need. We'll see what they do about it. |

Does anyone know or remember from World juniors or u18s or from a website whether or not MARTIN NECAS plays strictly center or does he play the wing too? - manvanfan
A C playing W is easy. Wing is the easiest position on the ice. |

I'd be happy with Mittelstadt if available or Glass.
With Heiskanen rocketing up the list & Makar is a PP QB.
If JB sees D our need/BPA thats fine also.
No interest in Vilardi or Rasmussen.
V played wing all year & idc for one with our 1st.
Rasmussen 5v5 points r a red flag.
Really high on Petersen if we can get another 1st somehow |
