I'm holding out hope that Edler or Eriksson could get moved, I think they only will go to certain teams. Surely playing in Ottawa has some appeal, for example, if Methot takes off. LE might be ok with a trade if Van decides not to resign the twins.

I know you think I am a huge Benning and Sutter fan . I am not I agree with what most say about both here.

This is a make it or break it year with me for Benning. You are correct he has had three years to lay the ground work so it is time to start seeing some results . I think Boeser is a good example.

JV turned out to be a piss tan so I don't hold Benning responsible .

Sutter as I have said all the time he is a decent third line center. Canucks have so many issues at this point it doesn't matter what you try . You need to clean house.

You WERE! Before they traded for him you had a major boner for the guy. I tried to tell you he was no better then Bonino. You were having none of it.

Sad. With their contracts, if they don't rebound to have a good season then their value will plummet even more. If that downward trend continues teams may not even pick them off waivers.

I like him but he is not my favorite team. I think he will be good for the rebuild and is in the right age group.

I think he is a lot better than Bonino .

LE will have to put up much better numbers or the Canucks will have to retain a lot of salary if they hope to trade him anytime soon

Every bottom feeder team does that.

Nope, Buf, Car, NYI, CLB, Fla, Tampa all have a pretty good record of letting their kids marinate.

Even Toronto did with Marner, Nylander, Kadri.

He is definitely better than Bonino for our team's needs but that contract, more the way it played out than the actual amount was dumb. As was trying to sell the fan base on him being a key player. He's a very nice complimentary piece and in retrospect it makes a lot of sense for a team that was still trying to go for it.

Yeah you can't blame them for taking the $ but don't they need to show more for it?

That's why Goldy, Boeser, Virtanen, OJ can all stay in the minors or juniors. No rush. Sign some plug players.

That's what you want. This is the season of more depth and young talent integration that he needs to prove it.

But if they are ready, then what's the point of playing Megna, Chaput and Skille types ahead of them?

Ya totally (frank)ing with you but i remember you pumping the tires on Sutter pretty hard. I honestly don't know if there is much of a difference between the two players IMO.

Of course they do ...but the comment was referring to kesler seeing the sinking ship ...if you pay players more than they might get elsewhere it can change a players tune
