Not at all I just get franking annoyed with the same old whining on Hockey Buzz every franking day. Deployment Sutter is overpaid $700,000 Frank it's nauseating
- CanuckDon

Van needs a legit 4th line that can take some face-offs in the D zone without getting kicked around. Miss those days of Manny or even Brad Richardson.

Two line mates that are good at possession and exiting the zone. I don't know who that would be on Van.

That's because they were in tank mode and seeing what the younger guys could do, finally! My point is still valid in that IMO you are wrong, he didn't play third line minutes like you suggested. For the majority of the year up to the TDL he was a top six guy at even strength.

At the end of the day it doesn't matter, we all believe Horvat has established himself as the new second line center, perhaps even the first if he can once again built on last year.

- LeftCoaster

Easy... easy....
Hee was not deployed like a top six player though. Toi doesn't dictate offensive starts. He started more shifts deep I the defencive zone then almost all the players in the whole NHL. Yes he had 4th highest TOI minus PK. But how many times did he get gifted OZ starts? Never. Those went to 1C hank and 2C horvat. I'm not making this up.

He played lots, yes. But that is because WD threw him out every play stop in our end. Not because he was playing 2nd line minutes

Same with me . People think I love Sutter. I like him .

I find it stupid we blame Bonino Sutter Eriksson the 3 coaches Bartowski Weber .

41 goal top line . poopty style and soft team . There lies your problem , not your third line center.

Toews got Richard Panik to 44 points

Benn and Seguin got Eaves to 55 points (around)

oh how those totals go up when you play with someone world class.

the roster (frank)ing blows...linden/elmer are just as much to blame. Heading into year 4 next year...after a certain point you can only blame the previous GM so much, less and less with each passing off-season, draft and tdl.

Nope.... but i have to ask, how many points did B.Mo get as a legit first line center?

Averaged .6ppg over his career, peaked at 71 points.

Whay does this have to do with Sutter? Nothing.

Carry on my wayward son. There'll be peace when you are gone.

I laugh when I see that stupid stat that he is the highest paid guy never to get more than 40 points .

If he scores 41 next year the new thing will be he is the highest paid guy never to score 42 pts

If Hamhuis Edler Kesler and the Twins didn't have NTC/NMC then things could have been different . MG shares some of the blame.

Two issues with this, Henrik has never been a goal scorer, he sets everyone else up! Only twice in 17 years has he surpassed 19 goals. Secondly, Benning didn't sign those guys to those deals, he did however sign Eriksson and Sutter.

4 drafts after this year, had money to sign Eriksson/Sutter and has made a lot of trades. After the Sedins contracts expire and he's heading into season 5, this is basically Elmer's roster baby.

The year Daniel was injured Hank won the Hart and scored 29 goals . Maybe a good coach would have kept them split up so they were not always looking for each other.

Do you think we would have walked away with Sbisa and a first if Kesler had not given us one team to go to?

Or Hamhuis would have been moved 2 TDLs ago? Edler?

So you're saying we should blame every problem the team has on the Sedins? We're not allowed to discuss other issues we have with the team, it has to all be Sedin-centric?

That's fine, I agree he got screwed by the NTC's, but having 4 drafts, including top 6 picks in 3 of them should allow you to build a decent future core that should be starting to make an impact by your 4th/5th years as GM. At some point, the excuses have to stop just based on the fact that he's had a good amount of time to make the roster his own.

He still got back a 1st + Bonino from Kesler. Got a 2nd for Bieksa after a terrible year by him. Got decent returns for Hansen/Burrows so it's not as bad as people make it out to be. He's had decent cap space and assets to work with.

How many Gillis contracts will still be on the team after the Sedins are gone? Elmer signed Tanev and Edler will only have 1 more year left. And I'll laugh at anyone who argues in 2018/2019 that Edler alone is holding back the team if Elmer is still around for that.
