Meh....I don't think this is NHL is any different from the 2005 NHL, same rules apply except for the lottery.

We've seen a better understanding of player evaluations and development from feeder leagues. Analytics as well. At least to discern top 5 and 10 players. Makes giving up the better pick less attractive now. Plus more risky since Cap is not going up and player salaries of top players have. So you can't afford to miss as much and make up in trade or UFA.

This is why people have a hard time seeing us draft two centers better than Bo we always waynt to trade down to 15
- VANTEL

I'm saying move to 7th (Arizona) or 9th (Detroit) at worst, not 15th. Depends what on the table of course, if it makes sense and you can draft Pettersson there it's a win to me.

- 2003 the Panthers traded from 1st overall back to 3rd overall.
- 2004 the Blue Jackets traded back from 4th overall to 8th overall.
- 2005 Atlanta from 8th to 10th.
- 2007 Blues from 9th to 13th.
- 2008 Islanders from 5th to 7th to 9th.
- 2009 Wild from 12th to 16th.
- 2016 NJ from 11th to 12th

It's not an uncommon practice at all.

As I mentioned in my post top 10. There are lot of trades from then on. I also mentioned in the "new" nhl. Most of those are from a completely different era in the NHL.

49 players in 2005-06 scored 70 plus points.
139 players played 20 plus minutes a night.

19 this year.
109 this year.

Well seems you got things under control to have time to be in here. Or is this thread the drug that dulls the pain

The idea has totally crossed most of our minds i'm sure. I've got the idea that if Dal, Avs both take a D that Van holds the cards for Buffalo. They don't need another center, they need D.

As you mentioned that NJ moved up 1 spot last year. Gave up a 3rd round pick to do it.

If dallas and Avs do take D's and Buffalo wants a D too. That leaves Vilardi, Glass, Mittelstadt, Pettersson with Van picking at 8. To add in a 3rd or they own minny's late 2nd.

In a perfect world I would do it too. It almost just seems to simple and a sure thing for it to happen.

Mine cut her finger on something. Band-aid on it. Asked her to dry the dishes, she was happy too. What 6 year old enjoys drying dishes

He's got deft skill and vision but is he an alpha

More important does JB see a Canadian heart in him

I watched highlight videos for like an hour this morning on Pettersson, Glass, Mittelstadt, Vilardi.

The truest play maker of them all, was definitely Pettersson. Would need to get stronger. Ability to find teammates unmatched.
Comparable Alexander Wennberg

Mittelstadt was a "new nhl" type player, speed through the neutral zone, quick and skilled with a good shot.
Comparable Tyler Seguin

Glass was quick and is good at finding space in the O zone. Defensively responsible. (I would say he looks like the center version of Brock Boeser)
Comparable Ryan Johansen

Vilardi skating is poor. His hands are elite maybe best in the draft. Creates a lot of turnovers on the forecheck. May not be the fastest but plays so smart. Plays the hardest game of them.
Comparable Ryan Getzlaf/ Sean Monahan

This is just what I got from watching highlight videos.

A name not even mentioned is Sven. If he has a twenty goal year he should be moved at TDL . He could get a decent return . H is redundant with Granlund
- VANTEL

If teams are going to offer first round picks in next years draft at the trade deadline. I'd sell both. 3 first round picks in the 18 draft could create a dynasty.

Ottawa playing the old 1-3-1.

Hands down the boring style of play in the history of hockey.

Nashville played that way for years with trotz

Get a lead and sit on it.
