Toronto and Emonton both took on brutal contracts also during the 10 years. Not everything works the first time you try

Heads up to all, I have contacted CaptEO and they are upgrading the servers, should be some bumps along the way.

Have patience, they should be completed soon.

A year to late for Hanhuis too.

A name not even mentioned is Sven. If he has a twenty goal year he should be moved at TDL . He could get a decent return . H is redundant with Granlund

I'm a build from the back out guy. Goalie-Defence-defensive center

In 2014 you would have traded back. I understand personal preference for you but well I just went and unfortunately I couldn't really find it so I looked on hockeydb.com at all of the trades within the top 10 since 2010. Last time they have the trade feature at the bottom.

Anyways no one has traded picks 1 through 7 since 2010. 8 was traded in the Jordan Staal trade. 9 traded for Cory Schneider. So what I'm saying is that trading down in the top 10 is something teams don't do! Call it whatever you want "trendsetter" "innovator". It's just something that hasn't been done in the new NHL.

- 2003 the Panthers traded from 1st overall back to 3rd overall.
- 2004 the Blue Jackets traded back from 4th overall to 8th overall.
- 2005 Atlanta from 8th to 10th.
- 2007 Blues from 9th to 13th.
- 2008 Islanders from 5th to 7th to 9th.
- 2009 Wild from 12th to 16th.
- 2016 NJ from 11th to 12th

It's not an uncommon practice at all.

That's fair. What do you think of the trade scenario? Does it work for you?
- Nuck4U

Sure....it's fine, I'm ok with it.

Nah, joking, 'tis true. Everyone thinks it will be different for them, and sometimes they are, but they're the exception, not the rule.

Rick and Morty is probably my favourite show going right now – you watch the new episode?

Yes I could see teams moving back for more assets. If Glass or Mittelstadt aren't there at number 5, I'd trade back a few spots if I can find a taker.

Meh....I don't think this is NHL is any different from the 2005 NHL, same rules apply except for the lottery.

I wish we would go back to letting goalies play the puck in the corners. I think they have taken away an aspect of the game that is sorely missed. Chances for and against.

Yeah I would prefer that trade for a top 5 pick then a trade down scenario for our Canucks.

Again we don't control what other teams want or are willing to do. More even for our own GM. But would like to see that add on of select top talent for the rebuild.

This is why people have a hard time seeing us draft two centers better than Bo we always waynt to trade down to 15
