I don't mind the wait ...... I just don't like the complete shift in strategy every 2 years.

FYI ... he didn't fail miserably. He would have had us in the playoffs next year.

Murray is the one that shifted strategy.

He intentionally tried to be bad (or tried to remain bad) then immediately spent a ton of money and assets to try and compete.

Two years into having his core, we finished bottom 5 = getting axed

But should u stay with the same strategy if it's not working?
I'd have been ok if Murray came back for one more year...
but there was also enough reasons to let him go

And us making the playoffs next year under Murray is a complete unknown
I'd like to think he'd have fixed the defense...
but judging by how much faith he put in Bogosian & Kulikov,
Idk how u could say for sure that he would've gotten it right this time

You can't be the worst team in the league and expect to be a playoff team 2 years later. It's a ridiculous assumption. He was NOT given enough time to complete the roster IMO ...... it's just as simple as that. I do not care that we did not make a huge stride up this past year. There were many injury factors at play that hampered that.

I would have liked to see what TM would have done to address the "D" this off-season. He had a plan but was derailed in a panic move by the owner.

I agree with you, don't think he was given enough time, some of those draft picks are going to turn into good NHL players. Hopefully this new guy can draft well. It looks like he has the rest in control but we'll find out i guess
