Yet if not for a couple of blown goalie interference calls it likely doesn't even go 7 games. Corsi is ok but in a game of bounces like hockey it's frequently not your friend. - TheTaoOfSemenko
The whining will not stop. The calls have been explained over and over and over by those in charge. There are quite a number of "experts" that believe they were the right calls also.
How about the Ritchie high stick last night not called which would have been a double minor penalty on Edmonton?
How about the slash on Perry's stick that if called would have been a 5-3 advantage for the Ducks for about 1:30, but it wasn't called. Even the announcers were surprised it wasn't.
How about the Fowler offside call, which resulted on a no goal call, where it was "questionable" if the play was actually was offsides.
And that was just one game.
Ducks deserved the series win, despite the constant whining from our neighbors to the North. |

Oilers had MANY lucky bounce / deflections that lead to goals, we can do this song and dance all day.
Ducks had missed calls that they could have capitalized on, same with the Oilers. Context is key, but let's not get this twisted - when you possess the puck more, and shoot more, good things will come.

Not sure which 'experts' those are. Pretty much everyone I saw talk about it agreed they were blown calls. Point is that talking about how the Ducks dominated the series isn't accurate.
The most constant whining I've heard has come from Randy Carlyle. Even after winning game 7 he didn't stop. |

I wasn't talking about bounces. Those are part of hockey. They can go either way. |

Being the better team and dominating are not the same. I agree with you in that the Ducks did not dominate - but the numbers (and calls) were against the Oilers.

Not gonna lie guys, I'm a little hungover and grumpy today and a lot whinier than I normally am. Calls go either way a lot. It's hockey. It was a good series. |

I wouldn't have an issue with losing to the ducks if it wasn't for the game changing blown call in Game 4. That and Randy Carlyle crying like a little female dog. |

Hockey is the only major sport in Edmonton. People up here take it very seriously and take losses pretty hard. Down there the Ducks lose? Not sure about the exact geography but aren't the Angels, Rams, Dodgers, Chargers, Lakers, Clippers, Warriors all fairly close. You have options. We dont. - TheTaoOfSemenko
I get it. You guys have a great team, and have the makings of an amazing team.
The blaming of this series on the refs has to stop though. RNH with 2 assists and no goals, Eberle with 0 goals and 0 assists, McD with 5 points for the series, Kleff and Larsson making key mistakes (I say this because it's the #1 line), there is work to be done. And that goes for any team... |

Despite my admitted heartbreak about the loss and awful hangover, I'm still happy. Pre-season a lot of pundits still slotted them outside of the playoff picture, and they finished 2 points out of the division lead and went to game 7 of round 2. They're young as hell and played a hell of a series against a very good Ducks team. The two rounds of playoff experience will have taught them a lot.
Now at least I can shave my stupid beard and cut my hair and watch the rest of the playoffs just as a hockey fan and not a crazed Oilers lunatic. Have to admit, you guys aren't anywhere near as bad as other fanbases. Make no mistake though, I am rooting for the Preds to win. Nothing personal. Cheers. |

Pay no mind to him, the Kings had their glory and deserved it because they played like a boss. They have bloated contracts and players not performing just like us, and have a depleted farm system. The fade into the sunset will be a sweet ride for them |

(frank) it. Congrats. 4 years of game 7 failures (at home) was bad and the curse was exorcised last night. Ducks stepped-up big last night and got it done. |

Yes, No, No, No, No, No, No.
Thirty + miles for the Rams, Dodgers, Chargers, Lakers and Clippers, but it's Los Angeles, which is a headache getting to when you factor in the horrible traffic.
Warriors about 6 hours away. |

Took me 14 to see LA win.
I wasn't born in 67. Get that through your head
That's all that matters I can careless how long it takes for a franchise to see a championship. In fact I've seen 2 in20 LOL
Do you think the Boston Red Sox give a poop when their team won the championship? The answer is no. Do you think Cubs fans give a shot when the last time they won? The answer is NO. Do you think Cleveland Cavalier fans gave a poop when their team won the championship? Answer is no. The Chicago Blackhawk fans do you think I give a poop the last time they won was about 1960? The answer is NO. And you are rangers even in 1994. It took them a while to. Do you think their friends gave a poop? The answer is NO
Duck fans are the only franchise fans that give a poop when another fan base won cause they think it matters - KINGS67
We have the dumbest fans ever? HAHAHAHAHA! When they said 14 years, they were speaking of the Ducks franchise itself. It took the Ducks 14 years since their inaugural season to win the cup. I do not understand all the hate all the time. Please do not call all Ducks fans stupid because we are not. Both teams have been good over the years and fun to watch.

You guys do have Disney Land and perhaps the picture of Donald Duck golfing was lost on you guys (Anaheim Ducks and Donald Duck "Disney"). |

Your comment was about the blown call in game 4. Thus my comment about incidental contact. Now you're showing a screenshot from game 5. |

Disneyland wasn't listed, was it? My gosh, your comprehension is sorely lacking. And I thought our public school system was pathetic. |

Regarding the Ducks Defense:
Yes, they have had some iffy play in the series. But look at the age of the guys who have played the majority of the last few games:
Fowler: 24
Manson: 24
Montour: 22
Theodore: 20
Vatanen: 24
Lindholm: 22
(Give or take a year, depending on Birthday...I'm pulling from an old list
But, Good Lord!
Going forward, they may need to stiffen that D with a guy like Bieksa, Stoner, or Holtzer. (There is such thing as having TOO many "offensive defensemen). But there are teams who would give anything for just one of the 6!
That's not even counting guys in the system like Larsson (19), Despres (24, but may never play again?), and Menga (23).
Complaining about the Anaheim Defense is a "grasping at straws", short term criticism. It won't hold up for long..... |

If you guys don't let us score 2 goals in 35 seconds, it's the same narrative. That could have also changed the course for what game 6 looked like if we lost.
Oil took the L. Better luck next year.

Sami and Fowler getting their game back after injuries, Montour + Theo being in their first run - it will cause some "Suspect" stuff to happen - no poop.
Our blue line is stacked with young talent, shoot Bieksa with a cannon out of the universe please |
