Staal's NTC doesn't begin until July 1st. That is probably the main catalyst for all this trade Stepan talk.
- jimbro83

Didn't realize that, thought it kicked in last year.

yeah, I think it's a huge factor they have to consider

it's no secret that a few NTC/NMC clauses have hamstrung the team quite a bit

last chance to get out from another one

Without a doubt! I don't care if you get a bag of pucks for Staal, move his ass! What incentive can Gorton give to Vegas?

There is a buy out window before the expansion draft, correct?

P.S.
What's with these incorrect posting times shown. I thought for a minute that I just had over 4 hours fly by in only 1 minute, to help make up for the last 2 Saturdays' early & late nights that took forever to end, after those 2 very late blown leads to Ottawa, resulting in 2 of their most depressing playoff game OT losses, and series loss in 6 games.
Ottawa did it again in OT for at least the 3rd straight Saturday. I don't see that post any longer here that said we could have had Pageau +, for "you know who" during last off season.

They are switching over to new servers, it's also why sometimes when you hit submit it deletes what you wrote and you have to go back and then retry

You guys think Girard is done too? He had a better year and wasnt terrible in the playoffs like holden and staal. Skjei looked very good

G was fine. I would try to keep him. Staal I would love to see gone. That contract with his play is scary. Holden I have no issue as long as he is third pairing.

Yea that bad turnover in game 2 in ot made a lot of people mad and it was a terrible play but it was a case where they had to rest the top 4 for a bit and it came back to bit them. The rangers are so close but they need that one big player to put them over the top and Nash was supposed to be that guy and he's not. You guys still were the better team not sure you blow it up

Yeah. I'm not in the camp of blowing it up. 1 defenseman and 1 center. Easier said than done. Especially since it would be trading Staal and Stepan. Both on the higher end of salary and NTC's kicking in.

not a ton of free agents out there either, shattenkirk on d oshie and radulov up front. the expansion draft is the wildcard this year could see some interesting trades and moves

Trade him to AZ with Staal for Domi. Gets rid of Staal and helps them get to the floor with actual players rather than Datsyuk and Pronger.
- nyrangers9479

You really expect a team, any team regardless of cap floors, to trade for both our worst contacts AND give up there best young player? You really have to come up with better deals, especially if your gonna throw them down the throats of people here

Including draisitil Dumba and Coyle

I don't even think Radulov will make it to market, unless he has insane contract demands. Seems like he's found a home in MTL.

He was probably the Habs best forward in the playoffs. He has a bit of crazy in him too. You can see it in the eyes
