I think this whole thing is really quite simple.

There are people that are offended by everything, regardless of how trivial and regardless of the intent.

There are people that think they can say whatever the hell they want, and then complain about political correctness when people are offended.

And there is a third group of people, hopefully the majority although I am not so sure, that utilize some common sense on whether something is offensive or not.

But, we live in interesting times.
