If I saw this little dweeb with this jersey in MSG he wouldn't be going home with it, i guarantee he folded it back up before anyone noticed

Yes lol def don't know why he sucks. It's actually pretty silly that's why he sucks to be perfectly honest haha
- Slimtj100

This one always got me:

It doesn’t usually take long. It comes with three whistles during a stoppage in play and then “Potvin Sucks” is chanted. It can happen two or three times a game.

Nobody seems to know why.

“I can’t really tell you,” said a woman at a coffee shop wearing a Rangers hat on Sixth Avenue. “I just know he sucks.”

every single year, one of these guys like Campbell spells doom on the Rangers, predicts their big fall, talks about no prospects, blah blah blah and every single year the Rangers are right back in the mix, always make the playoffs while one of the darling off season teams everyone loves misses out. Two years ago it was Columbus, last year it was Florida.

The Rangers need to do whatever possible to "entice" Vegas NOT to take Lindberg or Fast in the expansion draft.

If that includes letting them take Raanta or Grabner and throwing in a pick, they have to do it. Those two guys solidify that fourth line, have great contracts and proved their worth in the playoffs.

Brooks mentioned a few goalies that would be available as backups if they need to go out and get one to replace Raanta.

the Ken Campbell article above where he thinks it would be the end of the world if the Rangers lost Raanta is nuts.

It would be nice to keep him, but not the end of the world, there are other options for sure

Why would Carolina want to trade Faulk?
- mdw7413

I believe it may be Expansion Draft related regardless of which option protection format they choose of either 7 FORWARDS, 3 D'MEN, & 1 GOALIE, or the 8 SKATERS & 1 GOALIE option format. Under either option, Jordan Staal has to be protected due to his NMC.
If not, Faulk has a career -83 rating for a d'man earning I believe around $5M per year for at least another 2 to 4 more seasons, and would have to be protected under either option format. All their other d'men earn under $1M each and become RFA's after next season, with Pesce, Hanifin, and Slavin being EXP. DRAFT EXEMPT and also due to receive big raises in 1 year, while Ryan Murphy and K. Dahlbeck need to be protected (along with Faulk) if they choose the 7F, 3D, & 1G option.

As much as I would hate to lose Raanta, I'm perfectly content with whatever happens as long as Allaire is here.

yep, literally one of the least things I worry about is the Rangers finding a solid backup goalie

I would be shocked if they traded Faulk unless they were a clear winner in the trade.

I think they are fine for the expansion draft. If anything, I could see them moving him during the year next year depending how their season plays out.

What team's performance would you have rather had for the past six years, Rangers or Capitals? One team has super star all world forwards and goes six deep on defense with a Vezina winning all world goalie. The advanced stats geeks love them. One team is fast, gritty, hardworking, lays-it-on-the-line, over-performs, and has a Swedish hair model in goal. The advance stats geeks hate them.

I'm proud of what they Rangers have accomplished. Even more so this year because I had no expectations for them. What happened against Ottawa was just hockey.

I'm looking forward to this off-season. Maybe add a little size and toughness. Rebuild that defense. Get back to being a gritty fast team that will outwork and out-tough anyone.

Either one I guess. They both make it to the playoffs but haven't won a cup. Although the Caps have probably been everyones favorites going into the playoffs more times than the Rangers which I guess could be a little more disappointing.

I used to feel like that, but this series loss sapped all the positivity i can muster anymore. I don't beleive in this group, they need a major shake up. We were calling for that last year and then it's like ok one more year. How many one more years do they get? Specifically speaking about the leadership of the team

the Rangers once got Ryan McDonagh for Scott Gomez

I find it very hard to believe Derek Stepan has no trade value where the Rangers would hope he is taken in expansion draft. This guy is such a maroon.
