He's pretty much Yandle but right handed. Would you be comfortable with Yandle at 6.5mm? - rangerdanger94
They just don't get it. |

What about a guy like Connor Murphy to play with McD? Has size, defensive defenseman, plays with an edge. Sign Franson.
McD Murphy
Skeji Smith
Staal/Holden Franson |

He's just not for me. I don't think it would be a good signing at all. Indeed, I think it's basically a move to chase and inside straight next year and would ultimately be a real albatross deal unless it's at a real steep discount. |

The right side UFA market is awful. Unless the Rangers are ready to seriously overpay in a trade for a right side number 1 who can eat up minutes the options are pretty limited. |

Ovi looked totally devasted. Had the look of a guy who doubts it will ever happen for him. - Pete V
Wonder if he'll ever go to the KHL, especially if Kovy comes back to the US. That may lure him big time |

Totally get it. But I'm to the point where I'm looking a little more long term. I am willing to wait this one out a bit, even if it hurts next years team a little. I think this team needs a 2 year retool, where they are still competitive but need to turnover some of the roster. Just not interested in a contract they are going to regret in two years. Rather just go with kind of what they have and see what else opens up. |

No he is not, for one he can score, Yandle has a pop gun shot and this defensive liability is being way over blown, he can play in his own end |

You've obviously never seen him play then. He's terrible in his own zone. Maloney said he's known him since high school and very close with the family. Said he's a great offensive dman, great kid etc, but has always struggled in his own end. |

It's not just him, nor do I blame him for EVERYTHING, but I'm seriously done with just about every player who's been here for the last 5-6 years. They all can go for all I care, honestly.
What you think about a Doughty trade? Peeps think I'm nuts haha. But they need a Messier kind of trade badly imo. I know it was different times/era then, but time is running out if it hasn't already |

Who is this they? 99% of the ones here don't want Shatty, unless its for far less than what's being rumored. |

I think he would cost more than we'd be willing to pay. Get a Girardi type(Girardi 5 years ago) to play with McD. Keep Smith and Skeji together. 3rd pairing can be Holden/Staal and maybe a guy like Franson. I like Connor Murphy from AZ. They need centers (Stepan) but we would have to get more than just Murphy unless they were willing to take Staal. |

Whoever gets Shatty is going to have the understanding that he's not a defense first player. Like Karlsson for example. I'm not saying he's EK by any means, just that players can make a difference with offense from the backend. Gun to my head, I think I'd pass on him too tho, as we could have Sid Geno letang Shatty and Weber and our power play would still suck balls. It's just a given, the Rangers PP is destined to be terrible every year no matter who is out there |

Yeah, I'm not saying the Rangers should sign Shattenkirk. I could live with it if its a "big" discount. I'm more in the lets wait and see mode. Its certainly not the 1st priority move this team needs.

To get Doughty you'd have take Brown as part of it, I'm ok with that part because I want Doughty that bad. From that point LA couldn't ask for the moon.
No offense to guys you mentioned, but they honestly aren't going to do damn thing to change the fortunes lol |

I don't think we'd be able to field a deep team, not with Hank and Nash making what they do, Doughty alone I'd explore, what about Dougie Hamilton? |

There's a problem we have in this fan base is people actively root for certain players to fail, I have my issues with Step but I'm not happy when he fails, same with Staal, I'm pretty sure I'll be emotional when Staal and Girardi are each gone, been a long run and a lot of hockey with a lot of these guys |
