First thing is first you have to fire AV and hire someone immediately to see what they want to work with, maybe Sutter comes in and likes someone we all want gone, have to move on from AV before any deals are made
- KreiderBomb

I am really feeling the anti AV venom too right now but its not gonna happen. He got a pretty nice extension 3 months ago. NO way they pull the plug now. If they get pecker slapped around the first month or 2 next year MAYBE then.

And in the buffalo series in game 5 they gave up a goal to tie the game with under a minute left and lost in OT

7.7 seconds left Chris Drury scored. I was at that game. It sucked.

I forget where I saw it, but this the first team that didn't have a past cup winner on the roster. (I.E.- Richards, Boyle, St. Louis). Not saying it's the end all be all, but no one currently knows what it takes or can influence players on what it takes. We need that

I'm gonna keep saying Drew Doughty, get it done Gortan!!

Arniel's Interview should go like this:

Arniel knock on Gorton's door
Gorton waves him in, poinst at his desk taps it with his finger and says "Keys please"
Arniel places his keys on Gorton's desk
Gorton says "Thank you, you have until 5pm to pack up your things, let us know if you need any help"

You can't start trading good contracts for better players and not expect to diminish your cap space, I would keep Miller but he's an excellent chip to acquire a greater need on D, Step is part of the failed core who we can still get rid of
- KreiderBomb

Agree here. Miller has another year left @ 2.75MM. That's dirt cheap for a guy that was the #2 scorer on your team in the REGULAR season. He had a terrible playoff this year but in previous years he wasn't getting the quality minutes he got this year so I don't find it fair to say he is not a playoff producer. He didn't produce THIS year for sure, but look at the other years and consider 40 games / 16 points and where he has gotten his minutes and how old he was
Starting when he was 21:
He played 4 Playoff games in '14 and had 2 points, probably 3rd line at best
He played 19 Playoff games in '15 and had 8 points, they had Hags, Brass and St. Louis then
He played 5 Playoff games in '16 and had 3 points

I'd like to see them go after Barrie in off-season instead of pouring boatloads of cash at Shatty but if they don't get rid of Arneil it don't matter who they have on pp.

Sutter lost his team in LA, he is a country boy, he would hate NYC, and his son has needs and is a huge part of his life, I don't see him uprooting his life for the Rangers.

Yeah if Sakic leaves maybe new Gm would be a little easier to deal with Colorado it's seems if sorta same boat as Rangers maybe looking to change core of team up.

I think Colorado looks at Barrie like we look at Skjei. While I would absolutely love to get him, I don't think the Rangers have the pieces. I'm assuming they would need a #1 defenceman in return.

We are actually on the same page on this one. I don't think Shatty is the answer, and I think it would be a contract that the Rangers would greatly regret after a couple of years. I want a more complete defensemen if the Rangers have to pay $6-7 million annually.
- Pete V

I think we're on the same page for a lot more than most of you think, it just takes longer to agree. I've been saying since last year Stepan and McD need to show emotion on the ice. Stepan should be traded and McD should be shopped to see what he could bring back. We're not in terrible shape, just need a few tweeks.

I see your point, but it was the WAY he didn't produce this post-season that has me concerned. Unwilling to attempt the more difficult path. Never looking to drive the net or take the shot.
Unless we find out he is injured, as I speculated in the first round, I would try to move him before the rest of the GM's get more evidence of soft play.

I think JT Miller has an insane amount of trade value
