And how many of those players the Leafs got for Phaneuf are playing with the Marlies on the Calder cup run. 1 me think Greening.

Sens get to enjoy the punishment now. They can pretend this was a great trade for them but anyone who watched the games knows Phaneuf sucks and is only getting worse. The only bright spot is that they aren't a cap team anyway so that contract hurs them far less than it would us.

I'm not sure why Toronto/Leaf fans care that much... I don't expect Karlsson to be able to carry Ottawa through the next round... the rest of the Sens just don't have enough to compete as things get tougher.

Quite frankly, whether Phaneuf is good or bad or declining or not is of little interest to me. I wish the guy well and hope he has a long an productive career... but I'm glad the Leafs made that deal and the Kessel deal.

Almost doesn't matter what the Leafs got in return... they got themselves out of approx 15M long term commitment to guys will no doubt shortly start to show signs of decline. Cost was a few dead contracts and not much else.

It would be interesting to see Phil and Dion go more or less head to head if the Pens win.

Greening has been pretty good - when he has played. He's been limited to a 4th line role for the most part... but the guy works hard and seems to get along with the young guys on the Marlies. I hope he gets a contract somewhere next year.

I think Michalek and Laich more or less "opted out" earlier in the year.

Haven't really watched any of the NHL 2nd round. Definitely going to take in the game 7 doubleheader though. (Probably wont last for the EDM/ANA game though)

Yeah both good games tonight. The oilers/ducks will be a good one but it won't be over till 1230 and that's if they don't go to ot. Still tempting though.
