Horrible trade and a horrible contract if that is true.
Glad the leafs wont be involved in that. - Fakepartofme
Lou has a history with the guy and wanted him for 15 years. Don't count out the Leafs just yet. |

There is the Lou connection, maybe he does want to come to Toronto. Lou was the one that offered him the 15 yr deal. Might be feeling this would a way to pay Lou back - PatC80
No ownership forced Lou to do that 15yr deal.
He wont and better not be coming to toronto. Soft player, no heart, not worth the 1st or the 6 mil per. |

Devils owner wanted Kovy for 15 years. Lou did not. |

It's risky to hope that they make it through the ECF to the Stanley Cup finals, and then lose in the cup final.... but seeing the heartbreak of losing a cup final would maximize my schadenfreude. - TheMussel
It is definitely a maximizing thought |

I don't think he was soft when he was with Jersey. He was like a freight train who could score.
He is many years removed from that, in a league that isn't as good as the AHL and is 34. I would definitely not be betting on Radulov-like performance.

why would it cost a first rounder.?. If Toronto is the only team he would go to? I would say a 2nd rd pick..
Oh and I am going on the premise that Kovalchuk is only interested in Toronto.. Which is a complete fabrication - PatC80
Kovalchuk signed a 17 yr $102 Million deal with NJ if I recall right. He cost them some parts Oduya and a first rounder, and NJ was penalized by a draft choice reduction from a lottery pick (they finsished 22nd I think) to 30th pick in the first round for circumventing the salary cap rules. NJ did not get much in return - not sure NJ or Lou will be very forgiving of this guy. A second rounder probably does not push the needle.

I wouldnt say a "freight train"...but Ive never been a fan of his.
Apparently he wants a cup.
Toronto wont be winning one next year....so im hoping he has no interest in coming here.

The real question is....have you tried Clamato in your beer yet?
I've only asked you a 1/2 dozen times with no reply |

Soon.
It requires me to remember to buy Clamato when grocery shopping, so this is kind of a long-term process. |

Saw the Guardians vol 2 the other day.
Pretty funny, but reminded me of the current Doctor Who series (from the very few episodes I've seen), cheesy CGI for some shots, other shots had very good CGI.
But pretty much the who movie is all actors in front of green screen.
Entertaining. |

Leafs fans that troll now are just pissed that the Sens have won as many rounds this year as the Leafs have ever won in a single season, despite the fact that they have been around for 1000 years and have like hundreds of "Stanley Cups"

Teams have given guys like David Clarkson (lul), Ryane Clowe etc. huge deals. We always think teams will learn, but they never do. |

Good Lord, I now hope that we don't sign him, just because I don't want anyone on the team who wears such ill-fitting suits. |
