Your honor, Exhibit A. A typical Hock fan that comes to Bridgestone. I know you are upset you get Swept but whatever happens Nashville beat Chicago and St. Louis. Life is sweet

Nashville >>Chicago
Johansen> Toews

Go put your new Cubbies gear on and try forget about hockey awhile

"The “rebuild” has quietly begun, and we’ll all have more time on our hands in the late Spring, for a few years at least."

The only thing I don't agree with is the 'quietly' part ... seems pretty loud and clear.

Nice write up again - they all have been.

rewatching Oshe's goal I could not help but think how Phil Esposito scored about 700 goals from that spot in the slot - can we have one of those players please...

JJ just being a arm chair gm: panrin 2018 1st and motte to wash for burkosky and Wilson Crawford to Winnipeg for trouba helybuck and copp hammer to phily for morin /hagg or ghost and cousins or to Edmonton for pulvartiy and nurse AA or kruger Hartman forsling to col for Duchene + 2mill retain sign thorton if he leaves san jose 1 year 2mill one last chance at the cup like Richards any of these make any sense.

I've seen reports on Twitter that the Islanders will be offering Tavares a contract for 8 years at $10 million per season.

I think the angle /direction should be to go back to giving Kane retreads/lower skill guys - he'll make them better simply by being in his line

But Toews needs 2 top level/All Stars to be effective. Put two of them with Toews and everyone will worship him as "being back, or healthy", but truth is he won his Selkes because he played with the best defensive winger in the game when he was still in his prime (Hossa). In order to get anything out of his 10+mil salary, he needs guys to carry a bit of the load. Kane doesn't

- PatShart

I agree with you on Toews. I don't think it's a coincidence that his play dropped of this year and some last year. He's been playing with a combination of Kane,Saad,Hossa and Sharp in the past and now it's Panick and Nick S. My hope would be that Bowman can get him a top line left wing but I think that's unlikely so like you said maybe they load up the Toews line.

Disregarding all your other moves...if the Hawks have Hellebuyck as their #1 goalie they have no shot at another Cup.

So what makes this kid effective? He's not big, he's not fast then what is he?
- Bjm84

He might not have elite speed, but its not like he is slow either. What makes this kid effective if his play recognition. Was Dave Andreychuk or Andrew Brunette fast? No, but they put the points on the board. Yes they were bigger than Alex, but they never had a release like Debrincat either. This kid doesn't shy away from getting his nose dirty (unlike the great TT). Watching him away from the puck is awesome, the kid sees what's going to happen long before it does. If you have a guy like Kaner feeding him passes, the puck will find that net a lot more then not. He plays left wing (his off wing) and is vey lethal when he is between the top of the circle and the net. This kid will make this team out of camp and if they trade Panarin he will fit in very nicely on Kane's line. Book it!!!!

That thought did cross my mind, but I think he'll be back. Not sure if he could play somewhere else while still under contract with the Blackhawks.
- walleyeb1

He can, he just has to turn in retirement papers in the NHL. Chicago gets hit with the recapture penalty regardless, exact same as the Kovulchuck/New Jersey situation.

Get a life. Exhibit B typical Trashville fan running their mouth. I've been on record stating that the better team won. I'm not upset the Hawks don't pay my bills sounds like you have been holding this in for a while somewhat bitter are you. Still upset that your Pathetic Preds Choked back in 2010 and 2015 which I should remind you that we Won the Stanley Cup. You guys have not won anything yet you sound really pathetic until you can win it all STFU. Trashville can't hold Chicago's jock strap

He's still bitter because of 2010 and 2015. On a serious note he should seek medical attention his Rash has spread into his anus. 3 Stanley Cups for our Hawks Trashville has 0

I'd actually love to see Caps Preds - no one remembers who came in second.... Might be fitting for our friend.

That's a good question. I would say about $1.75 to $2.00 million. Maybe a 3-year term.

Well we will see if they can get to the dance. I don't think they get past either Edmonton or Anaheim. I prefer Ottawa or Edmonton to win the cup

Id love to see those two. in light of cross-checks now being legal, i don't see sen/rangers getting past caps who now seem to have Pens number...

here's what I'm hoping for -

Trade Panarin to NYI for Hamonic (expand deal to try to get Strome too)
- Theres Tavares LW

Trade Anisimov, Hartman, Forsling to CO for Duchene

Sign Joe Thornton on a 1-2yr deal for no more than 4mil per to "chase a cup"
-Kane's proven he can get life out of a retread/theyve played together in Swiss league

- PatShart

I was also thinking the NYI as a potential trade partner.

In a dream scenario, I'm thinking this might be something to build around:

I'd trade Panarin and a prospect to the Islanders for Anders Lee and Calvin de Haan.

I'd trade Seabrook and another decent piece to the Blue Jackets for Boone Jenner and Ryan Murray.

I'd sign Brian Boyle to a two-year, $5 million dollar deal (if he'd bite).

I'd sign Keith Kincaid to a two-year; $2 million dollar deal.

Lee - Toews - Panik
Jenner - Anisimov - Kane
Schmaltz - Boyle - Hossa
(Insert rookie) - Kero - Hartman

Keith - Hammer
de Haan - Murray
TvR - Kempny
(Forsling)

Crawford
Kincaid

We'd get younger, faster, bigger, and tougher to play against. Would be putting a lot of confidence in the young defense to step up though.

Who knows Caps always seem to choke in big games. I do agree that it seems to be Washington's year. Unless the winner from the West has anything to do about it. Anyone but the Pens and Preds.
