I don't get how Skille is looked so well upon on the 4th line. Cram only got 10 games in before his injury yet we're ready to write him off, while Skille has had 8 seasons who was a 1st round pick. Cram looked like a guy who could hit and stand up for his teammates when he was playing, isn't that what we want on the 4th?

I think his experience helps in that he wont hurt the team. He has a history of scoring and skill which is a benefit, but his main job on the 4th line is to not hurt the team.

Personally, I am not a fan of a big body that only hits and fights on the 4th line. I'd like my 4th liners to have a bit more speed, be able to play special teams, and have a scoring touch. His poor production at all levels doesnt give me confidence that he is anything more than a placeholder until someone from Utica can step up for meaningful minutes

He had one fight and got destroyed...I don't recall him ever throwing hits. He is soft as frank

I dont have high hopes for him, but if we need a spot filled on the 4th line I think Labate is the better choice and still has room to improve. I think what we've seen from Cram is what we would get

I'm all for it. Another 1 year $1m> contract could prove a valuable trade chip if he produces

Isn't that 1 more fight than Skille, in 10 games? Like I said, if the Anaheim fans said he was a hitter in almost 3/4 season I think that's a better indicator than his first 10 games here. Maybe he didn't want to get in Willie's doghouse, it's not like the players across the league don't talk to each other.

I'd even rather have Labate have s shot than Skille, there's a reason Skille was a PTO because no other team wanted to give him a contract till we did.

Based on what we've seen from him I think he could be a very good 4th liner, like Dorsett only bigger and meaner

I agree with that. He needs more consistency and to be a little smarter, which is why I think he has room to improve. As it stands now I do think he is a decent 4th line fill in, but could potentially be a very effective bottom 6 guy

They each had one fight....that's not the point. Skille can play hockey. Crama can't. that's the point.

PTO at best. We have only 3 contracts left 47/50.

Ha, that's your opinion, but based on the fact that Skille was passed over by 29 other teams last year before the Nucks gave him a shot, speaks more about whether he's a better player because Anaheim signed Cram. Skille is an extra at best, most teams that's where he'd be at, not a 4th liner.

If he can truly score if given the chance who cares where he came from.

Skille is a 30 year old former 7th overall pick and we're arguing about wether or not he should get a shot on the 4th line.

I'd be happy if any 21-24 year old stepped up and earned it.

When ours was about 3 weeks old we were at the grocery store and an old man stopped us to look at the baby and then went on this long winded miracle of life speech, talking about how it was the best time of our lives. I've never been so close to punching someone. In retrospect he was right, but at the time we were so lost.

on our draft note , i was reading and comparing Vilardi and Draisaitl post draft scouting , stats and comparable and both have/had similar upside in scouts eyes and skating and explosiveness and defensive awareness were similar themes that came up. food for thought , because skating can be vastly improved upon if focused on
