Why wouldn't he be excited? The Canes made that trade with one intention. To sign Darling and make him their starter. It was in all likelihood the one team where Darling is walking in as the clear cut starter. Ward has sucked for years and Lack in nothing but a journeyman back-up at this point.
- TTtime

I'm sure he knew that too, as I read somewhere he's a total goalie stat geek.

The part in Bold about CAR being his first choice. I'd be willing to bet CHI is his first choice if he was the starter...

Off topic here, and looks like Dadonov might also be joining Shipachyov in Vegas, but from one of the Russian sports sites...

"As the "Cup", another newcomer "Vegas Golden Knights" will be Evgeny Dadonov . SKA forward and national team of Russia will sign a contract with rookie NHL after Vadimom Shipachovym. Negotiations between "Vegas" and the player is at the final stage and a deal could be announced in the coming days.

In addition to the "Vegas" on Dadonova he claimed "Chicago", advocated by his longtime partner Artemy Panarin"

Looks like Artemi might have been doing some recruiting.

You guys are so so sensitive. A little remark on your aging D got you all shook him. Will save a yellow towel for you. All the crap you have posted on Nashville though the years. Trashville.....inbreeding...all the uneducated remark..Nashville and it Metropolitan area is so much nicer than Chicago, warmer, cleaner, more green, less crime, less taxes. I guess that's why we have to work to keep the red out, people wanting to get the heck out of Chicago.

You are so lucky. You get to watch games with no pressure. We have to sweat this series out. And no matter what happens the Nashville Predators swept you. 4-0. No goals at home. Very, very sweet.

- predsfan97

Can you please attempt to be a little less pathetic?

"all the crap you have posted on Nashville throughout the years". Like what? We've got 3 cups in 8 years, and you're looking to win more than one playoff series in a given year for once.

Keep all the red out? That's comical. Nashville is perpetually towards the bottom of the league in attendance. Days the 'Hawks aren't in town, Nashville can't even successfully sell tickets. I watched a video not too long ago of Roman Josi interviewing fans outside of Bridgestone and they couldn't even identify their best player was interviewing them. The biggest sports draw in the state of Tennessee might be the Volunteers. Sad.

Nashville the city is great. Excellent food, friendly locals, good weather, crap music (that's another topic). But when it comes to sports, they're towards the bottom for good reason. Don't even attempt to compare Chicago with a mid-major metropolitan city.

And remember, no matter what happens, we have 3 in 8 years.

You're right.

I think that the way Preds fans are so ecstatic that they took down the Blackhawks that David Poile should convince Preds ownership to put up a banner that says that "they defeated the Blackhawks in the 2017 NHL Playoffs." It would be a PR hit for sure. Unfortunately, it would be the only banner they will have.

kesler sprawls in the crease with the puck no theres and then accidentally on purpose bumps and pushes talbot

that is blantant goalie int....but this is a clown shoes league with clowns for refs who rarely ever get GInt right let alone all the issues with coaches challenge offsides..

yet the oil still blew the lead

- bogiedoc

Hey Bogie just saw the clip...you gotta hand it to Kesler what a piece of crap...I didn't realize can openers came in Sherwood size. As I've watched some of these games the officiating has been absolutely brutal. The Preds/Blues series has been clutch and grab of old...

Kind of reminds me of the photo I saw last fall that someone photoshopped on here when they had the mock Blues banner raising that said 'we beat chicago'...lol...

meantime get excited about that third preseason Bears game against the Titans with our favorite qb in the booth that's right Cuddy will be on the call...he's already offered to reach out to the Bears QB's...to show them how to work on getting strip sacked.

Haha I saw that!

Looking forward to watching that Bears/Titans game. I think Cutty will do a good job in booth. I'm more optimistic than most about this team. I think we're getting closer than many realize.

I sometimes get the feeling that Betman is trying to avoid the ratings bonanza of EDM v OTW in the cup final.

Jeez - I'm a Hawks fan and I'M getting tired of 3 in 8.

The most important season now - as long as the Hawks can still be considered Cup competitive - is 2017-18.

Good analysis
Would prefer Oduya or Campbell over Rosi

- Colbyboy

correction....
Hjalmarsson, Kempny and Forsling have some trade value. One of them need to go maybe in combination with other prospects and picks to get a #1 or #2 right side defender. For cap purposes I would move Hjalmarsson.

Must respectfully disagree...after Hoss, the hellacious backcheck is largely gone with the absence of Messers. Shaw, Bickell and Sharp. An effective hellacious backcheck is an absolute necessity for any team who dreams of hoisting the Cup.
a.) it makes for a good all-around defense, and;
b.) it's contagious (young players catch on pretty quick in this aspect of the playoff game) and pretty soon the only goals against are of the fluke variety.
Team defense wins championships. Period.

- 35Tony0

Well...we'll have to agree to disagree. Our defensemen never stand up at the blue line. They continually back into the dzone and allow quality chances repeatedly game after game. And the turnovers that create great scoring chances come from the dmen every game as well. Our forwards back check or Quenneville doesn't play them.
Hossa is the best but forwards aren't the issue when our defense allows forwards to park in the crease without a finger being layed on them. It's a soft D system that needs change, either in coaching philosophy or personnel.

Panik for Morin?

- Davewn

Please. ....I'm talking a hockey trade with key personnel.
Morin for Panik was an exchange of under performers.
Thankfully it worked out.....so far.....let's see if Bowman
can sign him to a contract that makes sense now and not over pay and not give yet another NMC.
I want to see a core player moved for a GOOD young prospect and picks. Philly and Carolina have young defensemen that they might part with....and Edmonton needs an experience dman if they want to make the next jump next year. The value for 2, 4, and 7 is deteriorating year after year. Get younger NOW.

Really? It's not that far in the rearview...not like 1985, the Bears and a young Sage hitting the clubs in his patachute pants and Member's Only jacket.

Ever notice how it almost destroys Foley and Olczyk to describe and discuss a Keith turnover. Ever notice as well that Keith is always protected. It actually makes sense to play Hammer on his correct side with Seabrook where Hammer doesn't have to feebly defend one-handed on his wrong side. Q puts Hammer with Keith to protect Keith. Outside of Chicago Keith got ripped for his poor play against Nashville. Feel for Seebs - seems every game new D-Partner to protect. Kempny may have some potential but he was a give-away machine who was constantly out of position.

Q is stubborn beyond comprehension. No matter how long you leave Keith as the Linchpin on the PP it won't change the fact that he is not up to the task. For one Kane should run the PP off the right boards as a left shot. Keith is also a left shot making one/timers almost impossible - puck has to go across Keith's body. Seabrook as a right shot is a natural here and has been used in the past properly here. Notice also that Panarin is a right-handed shot and that is why one-timers can work to him.

If you think Hawks need another D-Man then Bowman should tell Crawford he will be paid to sit until allows a trade freeing up a cool 6M

I agree with this. I think the time is now to move one of the big 3 on the backend while they still have value. Both Keith and Seabrook are from western Canada and may entertain a trade to a team on the rise like the Oilers.

Go back 20 years before that and you'd see my Nehru jacket and wide striped bells....

I'm just tired of having it pointed out to every troll that comes here.

I'll look back on it fondly when the last of the core has retired and we're looking at a complete rebuild.

Of course, at my age....

4 and 2 would have "hockey trade" value- realistically, 7 does not. I shudder to think of what kind of "sweeteners" from the Hawks or bad contracts coming back it would take to get someone to take on 7 years of Seabrook's contract.

And the Cro haters still think Holtby is better, much like Bishop and other Regular Season Queens...
