I would love for Sodeberg to go, but the fact they signed Ship early this week. I think they will take a big hit in them wanting Berg, Grigs, etc.

I could see Rocco. He did amazing in the AHL this year and could be a nice add for them. I think hes a good 4th line energy guy in limit roles. Would do well in Vegas.

Barb is probably the pick, which would suck, he was such a nice add. I hope for Colborn Comeau Sodeberg but I don't think Vegas is that dumb

I think barb, Comeau and rocco are all in the running. All bring something different to Vegas.

I did like what barb brought to the table here.and his flow! 3rd pair lock to me for us. Long term solution? No but a nice plug-in player for now. Wouldn't be shocked if Vegas snatched him or in a potential core trade.

Yes and I'm saying nothing Sakic has done is encouraging. With all the moves Joe has done, the team is getting worse.

I see where you are coming from. But why aren't you surprised this team got worse? Im not. Did i expect this season no. I expected a similar to last year season, pushing for a wild carf spot but this is the forst season when they didnt do a quick fix and this is what we got. Was roy wrong in his as semester of the team? Maybe. But he wanted a cup now. Not a rebuild. Quick fix team and this is where it got us. 48 point season. They tried the quick fixes over the years and we ended up here. Iggy, beau, soderberg, Comeau, Stewart... all "quick fixes" to a "core" that now we look at as not good enough. They also that it still didn't address the elephant in the room, which was we had no player pipe line. No ahl development and no real prospects.

Sakic does have to be better, but expecting a flashy quick fix won't solve this team. The small FO moves he is making slowly are helping us. MacFarlane, good hire to help draft direction, ahl development. Adding analytics. Then last year hiring EV. Good development coach. Hiring bednar. Good hire. He fits where the nhl is going and makes players earn what they get.

What can he do this offseason to improve the team? Simple: figure out what to do with beau. Trade 1 or 2 core players for new core players and picks. Example: 9 for sergachev and a 1st or 2 2nds. Tb4 for Drouin. Bednars staff needs improvements. Don't sign over age vets, smart 1 year flippable players. Let Young players develop. If you can't surround jost with talent up in the avs on a 3rd line, don't. Let him develop in the ahl.

Unfortunately this team will probably get worse before it gets better. We can't compare to Toronto because they had a ahl farm system that was good already before they cleaned house in Toronto then winning Matthew's helped. Oilers aren't comparable to us either. They got a generational player and are quickly building around him because there window of contending is now open. They still have many organizational holes to fill but McDavid covers a lot of them up. The avs are in a rock and hard place. Ahl team doesn't have enough talent coming in and the avs don't have enough up top.

I think Sakic probably needs another year without Roy for fans to see what direction they're headed. There's a bunch of talent on this team and I'd like to see someone give Edmonton a run for their money in the west; west NHL is pretty exciting... the Oilers Ducks is, to me, the series of the playoffs.

I think Yzerman has been a fantastic GM (a few errors here and there); if Sakic can build off of that model and evolve it, he's on the right track.
