Regarding Kovy, I think their best bet is to approach teams that suffered early playoff exits. Chicago - Kovy for Trevor Van Resmdyk or Montreal for Galchenuk. St Louis is also on the brink as well so maybe a guy like Robby Fabbri and a 3rd might make sense. Yak's an RFA so that might be an option. No Shattenkirk. Too expensive. |

You want schenn less. Both make dumb decisions, but Schenn has cinder blocks for feet - tomburton99

Also, congratulations to Cam Dineen, Toms River, NJ kid. Signed his entry level deal with the Coyotes today. |

Shatty would be a big mistake IMO. He's gonna get a $7Mish contract. You guys could try and sign both Alzner and Del Zotto, and spend only a little more than you'd be spending on Shatty.
NSH and MIN are probably good teams to look at since they won't be able to protect all their dmen and they have an abundance of quality. - Rinosaur
This is a realistic strategy. A lot of the fanbase wants Shattenkirk and I am vehemently opposed to it. Greene, Lovejoy, and Severson can play 1-4, but we need another guy who's "okay at all facets"... Alzner would fit the bill until we develop a d-man or until one disgruntled one is available and we outbid the other teams (our best asset is taking a bad contract, but we also have a handful of picks in the 2nd/3rd round this year). Ducks might also unload a journeyman we can pluck for picks before it gets plucked for nothing. |

That's funny you asked that. Yes he is Kevin's son. Even if he makes it to the NHL he will have have a hard time being considered the best defenseman to come out of his neighborhood. In order to do that he would need to play over 1,289 games and have 743 points. Matthieu Schneider might have been born in NYC, but grew up and played hockey in Toms River. |

Yeah we need an undersized average center that was replaced by philip danault.
I'll stick with Henrique. |

The Habs have (frank)ed around with him so much. He's still somewhat productive while being bounced around by coaches. Yakupov is no officially a bust. |

He should have worked on his French speaking skills so that he could get selected first star more often at the Centre Bell.
Nevertheless, he's worth about as much as Drouin is on the wing. We aren't getting Galchenyuk nor Drouin with Kovy.

Now that Shipachyov is playing for Vegas, I wonder if Kovy would want to join him. Kovy for their first rounder? |

Or we could see the rights of Shattenkirk swapped/traded for Kovy's...
Washington would see a top line of
Ovi-Kuz-Kov or place Backstrom in for Kuz.........
Damn.

Again, Kovy can only sign post July 1. By then, Shattenkirk won't belong to Washington.
(It also means he's not going for picks this year... ) |
