This is what comes out of buffal sabres and Buffalo Bills fans. Ted Nolan was a moron.he didn't watch film, didn't have a sysTem,was as bright as two watt light bulb. I love freedom of speech, but not when idiotic, senseless spewing comes out,95% of fans who have no clue about sports, that's why regier(no high school education) Nolan , Rex and Rob Ryan's get jobs. They are part of the 95% who have no clue but get jobs because there isn't enough smart people

I do think there are players we can add in free agency as well.

Besides Shattenkirk and Alzner

Brendan Smith
Michael Stone
Jonny Oduya
Michael Del Zotto
Trevor Dailey
Brian Campbell
Dimity Kulikov (yes I would still see if he would be interested in coming back)
Kris Russel

Smith, Del Zotto, Dailey/Campbell wold be my targets

I know Kris Russell is the bane of advanced stats and this goes against my usual stance, but I've liked some of his play in the playoffs this year. He's got good speed and isn't terrible at moving the puck up the ice

He's a great shot blocker. That's about it.

He'd be our 3rd best defenseman unfortunately

8th pick, 2nd round pick, Nylander

RUN, run, away....... NO way I'm giving that up for a 31 year old winger.

Read more. No one said that.

I was proposing Reinhart and a the 8th for Ovechkin.

The other scenario was for Drouin, people were proposing 8th overall a 2nd and Nylander for. I want no part of Drouin. Cryass underachiever.

You look at the past few Cup winners, they have 5 or 6 guys with big contracts surrounded by complimentary players and decent goaltending, which I think Lehner can do. I want to follow that model, since the last few ideas didn't work out for this team.

He's a young looking 31...

I think Grigerenko is 72 years old today.

@sbroads - isn't Trevor Daley like one of the worst possession guys in the league? I'm surprised you'd put him in your 'yes' list....

That's why I'm proposing Reinhart and the 8th overall for Ovechkin. It sounds nuts on paper for both teams but THIS is the type of trade that both teams need. High risk/high reward. We get our "Hossa" type, a guy who's over 30 but shows no signs of slowing down physically/scoring, who is currently a star player on a team that constantly underachieves and would be a bonafide scoring winger for Eichel for the next 4 years.

Our big contracts would be Eichel/ROR/Ovechkin/Okposo/Ristolainen and we'd have McCabe, Guhle, Antipin? rounding out the top-4. Keep Lehner, his sv% shows he can be a solid starter.

Reinhart is constantly floated around as trade-bait for a D but I think we have to give up too much for one in addition to him and can plug a guy in through FA. I don't see us landing a big name D this summer in a trade, honestly.

With Baptise/Bailey/Nylander coming up, we have to place faith in them to be our Saad/Panarin/Teravainen types. Rodriguez is a great 3C/4C, and it's easy to find bottom 6 guys in FA.

I also want to keep Girgensons and drop Foligno.
