they do have a lot riding on expansion and the regular draft. Perhaps want someone in here ASAP taking care of those day to day things and then worry about presidency later.

But if I'm Botteril, I'm wondering why the (frank) ownership is asking my permission for anything and completely puzzled by not the question, but the implications of it.

And the implications are: "Are you comfortable with us not having a (frank)ing clue how to run this team but also micromanaging it and bringing in our own guy to butt heads with you on all of your decisions?"

I think 90% of the reason Moulson and Okposo were signed was to lure him here down the road.

But still, if it's a sign and trade, who knows with NYI management. It would certainly involve the 8th, Reinhart and possibly Nylander but I'd do it all day long.

I dont think its out of the realm of possibility. You wont have to pay Reinhart and you can fill in the rest with rookie contracts

Damn dude as I hit quote you edited in the 3rd and 4th lines and I got creeped out because I didn't see it show up until I got to the response page haha

But others will complain our D didn't get addressed... My only complaint is the lack of wingers for Eichel. Landing Tavares almost certainly means Kane is gone via trade or FA but our bottom 6 looks really good moving forward in this scenario.

I think the D can be addressed through a FA pickup this summer, not Shattenkirk but something like Del Zotto or equivalent, then Guhle/McCabe/Antipin/Nelson hopefully stepping up to some capacity.

We need scoring, not D. Our D looked so bad last year because of our system. It literally removed offensive rushes and chances for the D by forcing outlet passes and dump and chase.

i like that he acknowledges some sort of change in structure is required. earlier in the week 89 mentioned terry was on the fence about hiring a vp and i thought thatd be a mistake.

I get that the timing is ass backwards but i understand why theyve chosen to do it this way. whoever takes over this job needs to hit the ground running. learn as much about what he has here and prep for 2 different drafts.

It sucks and far from an ideal situation but i get it.
