What happened? It was getting better for a while, now it's down another $.13 from it's height last year.

There's actually quite a few ppl from Toronto that come to Buffalo to fly places bc it's cheaper

I think it depends on the destination

- jdfitz77

When the exchange was better I flew out of Buffalo airport a couple of times. Now it isn't worth it.

It was par for about a year. We were going to Outlets every month. But sadly CAD is back to it's poopty state. I thought Trump being elected might help but has actually made it worse.

It seems over the last year it's been straight downhill giving up all its gains since the bottoming out after oil took a poop.

You're right it has. Never thought of the oil angle. (frank)ing oil prices are going down but gas prices keep going up here. Douche bags.

I've heard that Canada is devaluing their dollar on purpose...
that way you're spending you're $$$ in Canada,
instead of crossing the border & spending it over here

I'd do it for 8th, not for Reinhart
The only problem with Seabrook is that he's a RH shot (like Ristolainen)
And I think it's not a great contract he's signed to (length)

You guys should t have trouble finding takers if u want to move him though
Lots of teams would be interested

- jdfitz77

The real problem I see that teams know we're hamstrung. That's why Saad, Sharp, Teuvo (sucks), and countless others have been nearly given away.
I was beside myself with the Bickell contract, I can't imagine having the Gorges, Ennis, Moulson contracts. Even the Okposo one makes me anxious because he plays a heavy game and will be out of his prime in the tail end of that deal.

Yeah well people still cross the border to shop. Not as much as before but still happens. Here's an idea so that we can shop at home .... lower the (frank)ing prices.

Yeah, that's the only problem with devaluing your dollar...
It's not like merchants are gonna drop their prices.
Not enough to cover the difference anyways

And since 99% of their population live within 50 miles of the border i.e. preparing for invasion, it's simple to hop the border and save money. And they get out of paying all their taxes. "What? No sir I go shopping in $5,000 suits all the time. I definitely had this when I crossed the border to the US."

Now that I'm thinking about it...
you guys are gonna have a tough time moving Seabrook
I didn't realize he's 32
No one will want that contract
And even if a team was ok with it,
Seabrook could just veto the trade

I think you're right that he has some good years left...
but the 35 & up years on that deal make him a tough sell

You guys are still in good shape though
It was a disappointing loss for u...
But if Rinne doesn't play out of his mind,
That's a much different series

You're still contenders for the next few years imo

Backstrom is one of the most underrated players in the league
He's a franchise center imo

Although I guess it depends on your definition of "franchise"

He's is the next tier after Crosby & McDavid
Maybe not at the top of it, but still in that grouping imo

- jdfitz77

is he like thorton, getzlaf, or oates (oates rode on hull's and cam's coat tail)

side note backstrom has a better ppg then any of the others listed not named oates

No way, he did it away from Hull too. His career high in assists(97) and points(142) came in 92-93 in Boston when he was 30 and Joe Juneau was the 2nd best forward on the team.

Edit: Neely only played in 13 games.
