He's 32. I want absolutely nothing to do with him if a 1st or Reinhart are involved. Sorry, maybe you can have Evander Kane for him but we do not want or need a 32 year old defenseman right now. Isn't he signed for like 8 years too?

- BeadyEyedDouche

Yeah, we taken on Seabrook he'll be our next Bogogian. No way.

Plus he's making almost 7 mill per for the next 7 seasons. I wouldn't offer a 7th rounder for him.

Yeah, I remember he def wasn't a FA but didn't remember exactly what NJ gave up for him. The whole thing was sketchy though, I think IIRC it was leaked well before the trade that NJ was going to offer him a 10-year contract or whatever it was they did. I think the NHL investigated for tampering too if I recall.

Blackhawks fan coming in peace, Buffalo is probably my favorite team besides the Hawks.
Would you guys be willing to take Seabrook for something?
I don't want to piss anyone off, but what about Seabrook for the 8th Overall pick and Zemgus? Or what about Seabrook for Reinhart and Falk?

We need to dump salary, and unfortunately Crawford and Seabrook are the most expendable right now. Seabrook isn't as fast as he once was (which was never blindlng), but he is a good PP guy and would become the best #2 you've ever had behind Risto.

Hawks desperately need depth scoring, defense, and prospects to refill the cupboard.

- ObeseOprah

Brent Seabrook was a nice player and a good fit with Keith, but he's the guy the Hawks absolutely should not have extended. If they would have dealt him 2 years ago they would have gotten a haul, but now he's making almost $7 for the next 7 years. Honestly I wouldn't give up a 7th round pick for him, the contract is on its way to being the worst in the league

And ignored the rest of the post where I said I want no part of him.

And you do know the meaning of the word 'maybe'?

Kane has 1 year left on his contract. Evander Kane for Seabrook would actually be a steal, since the actual cap hit in the long-term is small (EDIT: This is not true actually hahaha). Fact is, there's no desirable trade for either side here.

Honestly I would prefer an established GM. Im not saying many are available. But theres something a little scary about a first time GM being put in charge of this franchise in the state its in. We cant afford anymore growing pains at this point..

Yet we just had to fire Murray. To hire another first timer. This summer of all summers.

I remember NJ were docked draft picks for circumventing the cap with his big contract.

Yeah I was confused for a second, I thought his cap hit was only 4.5 but his signing bonus counts toward the cap every year.

That's a terrible (frank)ing contract

Not trying to be biased, seabrook still has a couple of good years left in him before he becomes a buyout/Arizona candidate. I'd love to keep him if we didn't have 5 pieces that were more important. He's scored more clutch goals than everyone but Kane on this team. He does PP/PK well, still has good advanced stats for an ancient 32 year old.
I still stand by that he'd be your second best defenseman instantly. And comparing him to bogo is a joke. 3 cups, Olympic gold, 40+ point seasons, A on the sweater. Bogo has none of that and never will.

Sorry if I ruffled some feathers. Just seeing what you'd part with for him.

This is what comes out of buffal sabres and Buffalo Bills fans. Ted Nolan was a moron.he didn't watch film, didn't have a sysTem,was as bright as two watt light bulb. I love freedom of speech, but not when idiotic, senseless spewing comes out,95% of fans who have no clue about sports, that's why regier(no high school education) Nolan , Rex and Rob Ryan's get jobs. They are part of the 95% who have no clue but get jobs because there isn't enough smart people

Too much money for too old a player. Same reason I wouldn't want to take on Weber for anything significant. The potential loss is too great.

No feathers ruffled

If he was 4 years younger, you'd be onto something. But he's on the wrong side of 30 to give up Reinhart or a 1st for. If it was Girgensons, Foligno and a 2nd, give or take a few pieces, that would be where I'd start.

At this point though, we'd be doing you a favor taking that contract, he has a NMC until the last 2 years, is just shy of 7 million and would handcuff us moving forward.

He might be a great partner for Ristolainen, but again, I think you'd even have to retain salary for it to be workable.

If he was being paid in the 4-5 mill range for another 3 or 4 years I would take him easily. But no way at 7x7.
