The Metro is absurdly strong this year again, though, so that poses a problem. Easily the best division in the NHL. - BINGO!
no doubt there! the metro is absolutely the best division...and getting better. |

If that 20 goal guy who doesn't get along with the coach is demanding 6 per..... - Eklund
sanheim and a 2nd is like trading turris for rundblad and 2nd. could go pretty wrong for tampa.
stevie y has gotten out of tighter situations than moving a 22 year-old, 20-goal scorer who is demanding too much money. |

ducks will need to shed salary / move out an expansion eligible dman. seems like a trade with TB could get hung up on that.
i'm not convinced the preds trade another dman. - Tumbleweed
Yeah not saying that all are likely to pull it off, just that they all have the assets they need to make it happen. Fabbro and Girard would be nice pieces, albeit ones that aren't exactly ready to step into a starting NHL role at the moment. |

i just don't see the ducks being able to take on garrison to make it work - Tumbleweed
Agreed...sorry didn't mean for it to sound that way. I figure if Anaheim is the partner Garrison is moved in a separate deal. Other teams Garrison could be included in same deal to help replace the dman being dealt. Garrison with 1 year left shouldn't be too difficult to move

Young top 4 d men are worth way more than a top 6 forward. Did we all forget hall for Larson already? Sanheim is predicted to be a top pairing d man. Why would you make that trade ? I don't care how good our depth in the organization is. Morin hagg or ghost are far more likely. But none of those trades make tampa better today. I don't see a fit for a trade with philly. |

I don't think TB would accept Sanheim and a 2nd. Just give the #2 pick. - wolphnuts12
I suppose the question is who will have the best career between Drouin, Patrick, and Hischier. I'd prefer to keep the #2 pick and draft one of the top 2 centers. Then I'd trade one of my D prospects for another good young forward on his ELC if I can't get Drouin. Not a deal breaker but Drouin is already closer to a big payday vs having 3 years of my top 2 pick making barely anything while my other young players are growing together. |

Agreed. I also think that a D-man is worth more than a forward. That's why I don't like including Sanheim. So if the Flyers are going to draft a forward anyway, and I haven't heard anybody saying these guys are supposed to be great, then I'd rather have the surer thing in Drouin. Plus with all the D-men on ELC's, there should be money to spare. |

my knee jerk reaction is that garrison will be hard to move.
But I’ve stopped doubting yzerman. He finds his way out of problems. |

With only a year left on his contract, I don't think it'd be super difficult to find someone to take that deal, if he waives his NTC. Would probably lower the price a tad bit for Drouin. |

Montreal and Colorado have no shot.
Carolina and Winnipeg would be the front runners with Faulk Hannifin & Trouba

Ducks need to shed a D-man in order to protect Manson from the expansion draft so I could see the Ducks offering up Vatanen + a pick for Drouin. |

If he's truly available and Bergevin doesn't get him then he needs to be canned. |

He doesn't have the assets to make it work...plus I doubt Yzerman would trade Drouin within the division. |

Vatanen might be a bit pricey for Yzerman. |

he is not worth a #1 D, all the skill but maybe a head case, plus he hasn't won anything |
