I'd say more a case of how can Stevie get Tampa out of the cap crunch they are about to get hit by.

Hextall gets a 2C, which he needed for next year at the same price he was paying Streit who was blocking a prospect. It's almost like signing a UFA to a 1 year deal a few months early.

The Ducks is where I think Drouin will end up. They have a plethora of defensemen and could give up a Theodore, Montour or Manson. I don't think Drouin will get as big of a return as most people do. But we'll see.

Seems a bit unlikely to me that Sanheim and a 2nd rounder would get it done, but I would do that deal from a Flyer point of view. I would not give up the #2 overall pick or Provorov though in any deal for Drouin. Provorov is probably the only untouchable player on the Flyers or in their system to me.

Jets can't afford to trade Trouba and not get a comparable defenseman back. They don't have the blue line depth to make such a move. Teams wanting Trouba don't want to give up a comparable defenseman because then it's a redundant move. He's staying in Winnipeg for now at least.

Agreed, but Drouin nets more than Hamonic+ so an Islanders match centers around TJ IMO
