I've read a few times that Kane rubs Kim the wrong way...take it for what it is
- Michael Pachla

I've heard that too from a friend who works at Harbor Center.

Kane lives (or lived) at the Marriott down there and rubbed a lot of people the wrong way when he first got here. The Pegula's aren't fans.

Especially with the way they've taken to Sean McDermott and his style, I'd put Kane resigning here at a very slim chance

Given Tanev's NMC is about to kick in July 1st, and he is a dependable D-man with a super cap friendly contract, what exactly do you think BUF would give up for him. This is not a troll post at all. We are rebuilding, and you guys have good pieces to win now, but mainly need D.

I would think it starts with the 8th pick and something something.

Interesting that ROR played with Antipin for Metallurg during the 2012 lockout.

Me too

RJ is easily the most beloved sports announcer in history for Buffalo fans
If there was a poll,
I bet he'd get over 90% of the votes

What about Van Miller. He called a lot of Bills games too

I don't think Tanev is worth your 8OA pick though.

Hanifin, Fleury, Bean, McKeown, Carrick...
- BINGO!

Yep...
that's what happens when u spend 1st & 2nd round picks on defense
U guys have been smart

Anaheim & Carolina aren't the only teams to do this either
There's a bunch

I am not sure Kane fits our rebuild direction. Not to mention I think Kane is worth more than Tanev after the year he just had.

not sure tanev's the answer to the question of why give up an eighth overall pick

You would give up the 8th pick for Tanev? There's no way he's worth that. That's a massive overpay imo.

Yep... #2 imo
But I think most would still pick RJ over him

Van was certainly loved

And no ...... Murray did not fark up by not moving him at the deadline. He return would have been zilch.
- fastek

How so? Kane was pretty incredible through the mid season leading up to the deadline. Somebody would have wanted it despite all the extra baggage.

In a weak draft? I would do that. He would be a nice addition to our D that we need desperately. And he's on a cap friendly contract at $4.5M for the next 3 years.

Agree
Good defenseman, but not that good

I'd be willling to trade a decent prospect & a 2nd for him though

he might be worth more this off season...that said, I wouldn't mind him re-signing as long as the $$$ and term were reasonable...wouldn't go more than three/four years

if the sabres traded down a few spots and then flipped the pick? sabres make extra picks and get a dman like tanev and the canucks get an additional first rounder

I may be overvaluing him with 8th overall but hes definitely worth more than fasching and a 2nd.

Gudbranson brought back Jared Mccan and tanev is way better.

Nashville stockpiled them for years. They can be flipped for forwards more easily because they're harder to find when you need one.
