I wish someone would cross check Pierre every time he says a players full name - opeth_pa
No, I wish he'd get crosschecked when he calls anyone something with a Y ending, like he's your uncle and you're a 4 year old.
Uncle Scotty Stevens.
Uncle Nicky Backstrom
Uncle Matty Niskanen

I hate it when he puts that fake french accent on a player's name... Dude.. you're from jersey.. you're not fooling us. |

And his name is regis. I say it all the time.
He's literally that one nerdy kid in high school trying to be cool and trying to be "a part of things", thinking it's working. |

I'm sure he's a great guy in person.
Terrible hockey player/teammate for the first 80% of his career. |

Your worst gimmick - PhillySportsGuy
Actually not a gimmick. He is a sincerely nice guy. All the time in the world for anyone who wants to talk to him. Seems to take genuine pleasure in it.
On air, not a huge fan, but if I see him in a pub I'm pulling up a barstool. |

Somewhat shocked a team hasn't hired him to be something in scouting........outside some recent interviews for GM jobs not much at least public in the way of that side |

There's no question that he knows his hockey. What drives me crazier is that he has this compulsion on air to let everyone know that he.. Regis Pierre Mcguire has indeed done his homework and knows everything there is to know about the subject at hand.
Exhibit A: a couple years back, when Mason was having his first good year with the Flyers, the guys on the NHL Network asked Pierre what was different about Mason that year... and Pierre goes into this longwinded narrative about Mason's conditioning coach, where the dude was from.. blah blah blah... and kills a good minute before saying.. and Steve Mason's conditioning is much improved this year. Seriously, Pierre could've saved a bunch of time and then given us some other tidbit of information too. But noooo.....

But he likes every prospect and player and cannot say anything that isn't complimentary and/or hyperbolic.
Craig Button would be the more interesting A-GM/Scouting Head candidate for me. But he likely enjoys the leisure and security and money of what he does now. Likely Pierre too, if anyone got blackout drunk, suffered brain damage, and made him a job offer. |

I'd take either, both would be solid at the job but may be happy with what they currently do that it'd have to be a really good offer to leave. |
