Makes sense then imo

It's really all about getting a QB in next year's draft
Won't it be ironic if the trade that supposedly got Whalley fired got us that 1st to help us move up & finally get a franchise QB?

- jdfitz77

I wouldn't be shocked if the chiefs fall on their a$$ and it's a top 10 pick

I don't disagree, players rarely get traded like that. It's why I bring up a good #3, if vatanen even falls into that category, does reinhart get him straight up? I wouldn't know enough about him to say. His scoring numbers have been going down over the past 3 seasons.
- ieetbred

I wouldn't trade Reinhart for him
If we put him back at Center, I think his assist numbers will go up
Something like Kane-Reinhart-Bailey should have Sam getting something like 22-45-67pts

a few questions on expansion

1. if Lehner wants 5 mil, do you expose him and protect Ullmark?

2. what is the worst case lost player to the draft, regarding this team?

- homiedclown

That's tough, I think lehner is good enough to take us to the playoffs. Seems like he could be a guy who takes it to the next level when he gets there too. On the flipside I have had high hopes for ullmark since we drafted him.

I honestly can't think of one, maybe carrier if he is eligible? I would say girgensons but probably because I have his jersey

I meant vatanens numbers going down.

I'm not sure you see that kind of jump out of reinhart. Maybe if he is glued to jacks side all year.

I've met TONS of hockey players
I've been a bartender for a while in the city

Roy, Connolly, Max, Pominville used to date a friend of mine, Enroth still does, got really hammered with Miller one night at Encore...

Basically 75% of the team from 08-12 i served at some point
Most were super nice dudes
Just wouldn't want my sister around any of them

- jdfitz77

What's his name? I heard a ton of rumors about Pominville. Don't think they were ever substantiated, but heard them just the same.

They have forward issues for sure
I've been saying on here for a while that I think we can snatch Nash from them for something like Carrier & a pick

Defense they can figure out

if the bills franchise tag watkins 12 months from now, it would only cost 2 more million then if they opted for the 5th year
- homiedclown

It's a super smart move. They get to see him play this year, and if he's healthy, great, extend him. If not, oh well. But don't be stupid and lock yourself in.

It wasn't. Whaley put his house up for sale last week before the draft. He knew he was done. But he's a classy guy and did his best at the draft. It also might help him land a job somewhere else too. Maybe not GM but certainly some sort of AGM in charge of scouting or something.

Fake news.

Blues refused to give permission to talk. Per the same interview on WGR that Is cited as the source of the headline.

PS - Brodeur left his wife for his sister in law. So "pass" on character.
