If they franchise him it would cost 15 million if they would have picked up the option it would have been 13 million I believe I'm not sure
- GERBE!!!75PTS

Correct.

So not picking up his option saves the team in case his second surgery on his foot shortens his season.

If he missed games again he is not a $13-$15 million dollar player.

This is a smart move.

You misspelled "every" (ever) and forgot a period in the last sentence.

I did just get done reading it (haha - friendly, good natured haha)

I hear you - but without the Pegulas, we have 0 Franchises.....sure, this gets old but have 0 teams in a boring area i.e. without the Bills and Sabres, the last one to leave, turn out the lights

And if he is finally healthy,
then it's only like 2mil more to franchise him

Correct and if he is healthy there is always the option to sign him long term.

This is the one move I completely understand the Bills doing.

I don't know, I hate it to be honest.

If Watkins just has a decent year, 70 for 1000 8 tds, do you pay that 18 mil for franchise?

Watkins ain't resigning for 13-14 when the team said no thank you for his option

So I guess we bring in Brian Burke? Steal him away from Calgary to lead the good ship "grit & truculence" and then have Teddy Nolan hoist the sails of hard work, haha.....

I don't really think the Pittsburgh Penguins won the Cup last year just because they had more discipline, character and determination, etc, than the other 29 teams. Talent, skill, execution of their plan, and luck had a lot to do with it as well. Also, lots of winning teams are known to have a sort of carefree swagger and attitude in their approach to games(85' Chicago Bears?). There doesn't seem to be one fixed formula for winning.

However, having an owner who can't organize a coherent plan so you have the next GM or coach with their head on a swivel doesn't seem to have a great track record either.

Let's just hire Mike Milbury as GM and be done with it. It'll be fun watching him beat fans with his shoe......

I think Buffalo should stay away from Guerin and Botterill and hire a more experienced GM.

"After all, I'm just a kid from a blue collar neighborhood who never played organized sports past high school. Then again, ever(y) trophy I had was earned and I never got my lunch money taken either"

....this is mostly geared at Gerbe, correct?

Murray was quiet, smoked a lot
Whalley was buying drinks for ppl, having fun

Definitely opposite personalities
