Depending on how Carolina shakes out maybe them. But I don't see Florida or Arizona moving any time soon. Bettman has spent so much on Arizona that he doesn't want to see them fail. At some point though...

Sure, nobody goes to games in Florida, but nobody goes to Islanders games either. It's more about ownership than attendance.

I give the Coyotes ownership a lot of credit. Nobody in the greater Phoenix area is helping them find a place to live, but they seem committed. Like you said, at some point, Seattle or somewhere else is going to look really nice. Carolina is a wildcard to me. I could see someone coming out of the woodwork, buying them and moving them quick a la Atlanta

its a gate driven league though. at some point you gotta really ask yourself how much more you're willing to watch these teams lose.

I get that a better team will naturally bring in more fans anywhere but a real sign of success would be establishing a team somewhere with a less fickle/more stable fan base.

Starts with improving the overall product, makes non die hard fans want to show up because its just fun to watch

And for the Islanders it's nigh on 40 years.

At some point its really going to take a toll on the league because its not just the southern teams. Wasnt long ago the worst operating loss of any team was columbus by a huge margin.

The Bills will interview Texans director of player personnel Brian Gaine for their general-manager vacancy on Thursday.
Gaine joins Carolina's Brandon Beane and Kansas City's Brett Veach as names connected to the Buffalo job. Gaine was passed over for the Dolphins' GM job after Jeff Ireland was fired, and Gaine left the team to join Houston. Sean McDermott will remain the primary power broker in Buffalo.

Botterill would be a terrific hire for the Sabres. We were hoping in Pittsburgh that he would eventually take over for JR and it did look that way until JR extended his contract.

From what I've gathered most Pens fans would be very sad to see him go.

Very true. We definitely don't want to see him go. He handles the salary cap extremely well. I have family who are Sabre fans and live in Rochester and I tell them that this is the guy they should get even though it would be a significant loss for the Penguins.

Hmmm we hire Bylsma, Pens fans say he's a goober...turns out to be a goober.

We start to look at Botterill and they are saying he's a great guy...perhaps we should've just listened to the Pens in the first place.

Sounds good to me. Still would like to see a Hockey ops guy here above him.

Just a day, noice. What'd I miss?

That picture of Whaley and GMTM in the bar was priceless. I'm probably one of the few if the only who wanted both to keep their job.

he doesn't go top '11'
- Michael Pachla

LOL he does go to 11.

There is no way an even remotely honest or accurate assessment of a polarizing player like him is coming from another team's fan base

Yeah no. Kadri is the dirtiest player in the league and it's not even close. He refuses to back it up, too and any time he makes a big hit, it's borderline blindsided and dirty. He's a great player and just like Marchand, it's unfortunate he resorts to playing like that.

You thinking he isn't a dirty wussy is what's laughable.

Yeah, DB was uh not the right choice. I appreciate him winning the Cup when he was hired during that season but as time went on we saw the flaws in his coaching. Hopefully the next hire will work out for you guys.

I really wonder what your record would have been if he didn't have Crosby, Malkin and Letang on the team. Probably would have been a bubble team every year.

I think there are a few who can claim that title before him

Gudas, Marchand, Kronwall.....

Maybe not you, my bad. But every time I get banned lately it's because one of your comrades wanders over here and gets told to (frank) off when they're being an obvious troll and then I get the hammer.

But I honestly like Kadri, just wish he played more like a Lebanese Drury.
