I don't have a problem with having a lottery for draft picks, but I would make two changes. First, if you win the lottery you can't win it again for a certain amount of years. Second, I would like the odds increased based on how long it has been since you made the playoffs.

I guess I would add a third thing and that would be to make it live. No more of this behind closed doors BS.

I've never understood the "make it live because you might be cheating" argument. They used one of the large accounting firms in North America. There isn't enough money to make it worth their while to throw it.

They can still resign him or franchise him. Which is what I think will happen. Sign him to a longer friendlier cap hit.

Is it the same firm that got the Oscars wrong?

not really thats where id agree that its not really our best option at a long term fix, not at that cap hit.

Then he shouldn't even be considered
How many times to we have to see that signing the wrong guy to a bad contract is a horrible idea?

I want no part of Shattenkirk

UNLESS we were to trade Risto
Then Shattenkirk is on our PP1 and makes much more sense
But even then...
he's a 4 on a good playoff team & he'd be a 1/2 for us
That doesn't seem like the best way to build the team we want to be

I would take Alzner at 5 mill over Shattenkirk at 7 mill any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I hope Rangers or Montreal overpay for Shattenkirk.

Me too!
But I could be talked out of Alzner

Man that would really be must watch TV. Would really suck to see a team that finished just out of the playoffs get top pick especially in years where a guy like McDavid available.
- Matthews_Auston

F that
I like how the lotto was first done...
where u could only move up a certain number of spots
I think it was 5?

So in this case,
Philly would've went from 13 to 8
That would've been much more reasonable for me

It might be. The firm got it right. The guy handling the cards got it wrong.
