But I think Malkin is going to finish the job - GERBE!!!75PTS
Did you see the replay? High stick to the head then cross-check in the head on the same play. Dirty stuff. Niskanen should have to sit until Crasby can play again.

No way...
Honest reaction was Crosby gets hit in the back of the head with a stick and starts to flop to get the call and while he is flopping he runs face first into Niskanen who was penalized correctly but should not have been a suspension. Nothing about that was premeditated.

Nikita Zaitsev 7 years $4.5m per. Good deal? I want to say yes, but those 7 year deals scare me after year 3-4. (I know he is "younger") - Lilroot9
I like the 4.5 per. Would prefer the length of the deal to be 4 or 5 years but in general a good deal. He was our best defenceman for most of this season.
pronger and datsyuk come off the books - homiedclown
$46.3m with 17 players signed and a bunch of RFAs to resign. They have room, but won't have a problem getting to the floor of $54m plus whatever it goes up by. Also, their salary total will be a little lower depending on who LV takes.

Sorry man, Niskanen was taking a run at Crosby and was going to blow him up regardless. But Ovechkin overhanded Crosby across the arm and he fell into Niskanen who adjusted to hit Crosby in the head. It absolutely was malicious. He had time to let up and there's no reason his stick and hands should have been where they were. He adjusted his already telegraphed hit.
Interesting topic on Toronto sports talk radio today .... for a change. They were asking callers who would you trade Matthews for if you had to trade him one for one for someone. They took away McDavid for obvious reasons. The callers were pretty evenly split between Eichel, Laine and Karlsson. The odd doorknob picked an older guy like Ovechkin or Weber.
Who would you guys trade one for one for Eichel if you had to? - Matthews_Auston
We would need a center back, so I would go with Mathews. Quite frankly I can see Laine in this mix but we would be exposing a huge hole by getting rid of Eichel at center.
Any trade of Eichel would probably cause me to vomit in my hat.
1.) Send a 2nd and Moulson to Vegas for a 7th also work the deal that they take Bogo in the expansion draft (Dream scenario)
2.) Trade Ennis to Arizona for a 3rd
3.) Sign Lehner to a bridge 2-3 year deal at 3.5 per
4.) Hire Housley to coach
5.) Sign Eichel to an 8 year $7.5 million per year deal (July 1st I know I know)
6.) See what the market looks like to acquire a young top 4 blue liner
This is assuming Antipin is signed already - Stripes77
I like this. However the deal to send Bogo would be pretty hard to pull off.

4 or 5 years would have been ideal but I think the only way to get the cap hit that low was to go 7 years.
1. Hire Benoit Groulx as coach.
2. Canvass the league, dangling any of Reinhart, Nylander, 8th pick, or lesser prospect for top 2 LHD stud.
3. Ink Eichel to long term deal.
4. Find a way to send Moulson or Ennis to Vegas or buyout.
5. Find a pure sniper somewhere. - Der Kaiser
whats the background on Groulx? Any 2LHD you would have in mind?

Agree to disagree but as an official I see the game differently.
Listen to this, it just came across my twitter feed

then why was he going away from crosby, til crosby was coming toward him?

Do you or have you ever played hockey? When you get wacked in the head with a stick, even with a helmet on, not only does it hurt but it surprises the hell out of you. His reaction was pretty normal. Second hit by Niskanen is a cross check to the head. Plain and simple. Niskanen should have been suspended.
Tanking is only relevant when there is a great player at the top of the draft apparently.. no peeps about it this year. I think the draft lottery is a (frank)ing joke.
Not to be a Richard, and maybe you're just messing around but that is a terrible idea. - ieetbred
I was not kidding, but I know some (most?) people wont like the idea, but what dont you like about it?
