They’re not in that bad of a spot.

Benning will surely leave the bpa on the board and take a bust off the board. They need to take advantage of that. So they’re basically drafting 5th with one less landmine out there.

Yep their team is already going to be a band of misfits now without a top 3 young star. However once the dust settles sometimes gems can be found around the 6-8 spot... example: Nylander

Use JVR for bait, with or without assets for a top 4 defenseman. If Rick Nash is available, see what it would cost to plug him into that spot. Try to sign Boyle, for a year or two, but if that fails, either use the goat or find another comparative 4th line centre with size. If Alzner falls into the 5 million per year price range, for 5 or 6 years, by all means, pull the trigger. Only current Leafs defensemen worth returning are Zeitsev, Rielly, Gardner and Polak. Consider another veteran winger with size for the third or fourth line. Draft a goaltender in the second or third round for long term development.

Not that it would have been a big deal this draft since it doesnt seem top Heavy.

I am adopting LV as my second team, at very minimum to add another reason to go there.. to watch one of my favorite teams live.

How many years did we spend here where you couldn't swing a dead cat in the Leafs thread without hitting 4 or 5 trolls from the Canucks fanbase.

It is going to be a long, and enjoyable payback. The last few years of Canucks misery haven't even been an amuse bouche.

That's probably not happening, with a $10 million dollar cap hit, for Carey Price on the horizon. Habs should consider starting to rebuild. They miscalculated, when they went all in for grit, when the league was changing to speed. If the Habs continue on this tract, they'll be the next Canucks.....old and bare cupboards. On second thought.....carry on Habs!
