I'm a Sabres fan who lives in the OK Valley. I totally understand the pain felt by Canucks fan. For some reason both the Sabres and Canucks are cursed. Maybe someday we'll meet in the Stanley Cup final and the curse will be lifted. Probably not.

Watch them select Tanner Glass by mistake.

There will be some kind of global fever and the finals will be cancelled.

What I like best about Cody is his skating and the fact that he put up solid numbers after having grown recently. Usually takes kids time to figure out their new body.

Thinking JB will go with Middelstadt. I read Glass' scoring 5v5 was superb. If an offensive d-man is available you gotta take it no? This team needs a PP specialist bad.

As for the lottery...we won't make the playoffs for a few years yet. Our luck will come eventually.

Remember you said Heiskanen won't go in the top 10?

Still willing to take that bet if you don't try to grease your odds by changing the bet around.

It is possible, but the unconfirmed rumor that Mittel wants to do a full 4 years of college may see us pass him on. We need a guy that can step in to a 3rd or 4th line role in 2-3 seasons and Vilardi and Glass are those players IMO.

I would still take Vilardi over Glass 100%.

Agreed. Can't go wrong with Vilardi or Glass. Would be nice to have a centre with some size.

Right. What I meant was if Philly can pull it off at 13 who's to say that can't happen to us one day.

Van needs a player that plays with size. At this point, either or.

ran through all the bad luck that has surrounded the Vancouver Canucks..

Ok, now we all know that there is no such thing as luck, bad or good, there are only logical outcomes from the calculations of percentages....right Lefty.

Would be cool to see you guys scoop up Liljegrin.

He's had a rough year, but if the result is him falling to your pick; perhaps it will be a blessing in disguise for both player and team.

Joulevi and Liljegrin bringing elite transition passing for the next ten years doesn't sound like the worst plan.

I don't think JB is basing this years 5th pick based on what is available in the next draft. How could he know where they will pick in 2018? So, there choice will come to best talent they like for the team.

There are some D that rose recently but are they better talent then say the 3 centers past Nolan & Nico?!? Seems the Vilardi & Glass choices cover size & grit with scoring at C. Mittlestadt at 6'1 200lbs not small either. Though he seems the better upside with offense and creativity. The first two sound like bigger Bo's. Good one two punch. Mittlestadt brings the uppercut and roundhouse to the mix. Just depends how you want to play with a mix or a consistent look.

Vegas could move up to #3 if they trade with Dallas and eat one of their goaltenders, just sayin. There's a lot of possibilities this year!

Yes. True. I even see Avs trading down if a team wants a C to add.

But given Nuck needs, holes etc. don't think JB should trade down or up(cost) on 5th pick.

Though given his asset issues you think he can really make a deal to pick up another 1st? I saw many mock drafts having Sens at 22 take Foote. If that's the case would Tanev for the pick and Brown.. work...?

Hmmm don't know. Having doubts JB will move any D this draft now.

The Canucks' uppercut and roundhouse kick for the next eight years.

Coming from a Flames fan it gives more credence this player may be dangerous offensively and something to covet. The lame picture retort confirms that the pre pick mock puts some angst into the possibility.
