For what its worth Kelly Hrudey on Hockey Night in Canada said that Murray pulling his groin like that in warmup was an "indicator of a goalie who is not taking good care of himself"... - MattStrat
Kelly Hrudey is not smart. He also said Subban is a 2nd pairing defenseman. |

Last season... Elbow to the head, missed 2 games with a minor concussion (or was it a "neck strain?)... Doesn't count towards injury prone at this point.
Offseason(ish), hand broken in the world cup. Bleh, but broken bones don't count to the injury prone in nearly all minds. If he has brittle bones, that is an issue FAR worse than just injury prone.
This year, groin pull, didn't heal fully, reaggrivated before game 1 of the post season. That would be the only injury to factor in, but its his first, and we "Pittsburgh'd" it and rushed him back. Should he get a similar injury next year, you can start that labeling. - Guile
Unfortunately for pens that's after they need to decide on a goalie this offseason. But in general I agree |

Well, since RW did mention him specifically, I will... kudos to old man Matt Cullen. 40 year old guy completely out hussles a player close to half his age and scores the opening goal in a big game.
Didn't he just do that in a game not so long ago ??

Guys it's a cap thing. Fleury playing great right now doesn't change our cap realities. We have four indespensable players (Crosby, Malkin, Kessel, and Letang) who take up a huge portion of our cap. For that to work, we need to keep everyone around them as cheap as possible. Murray is a whole 2 mil cheaper than MAF going forward and is capable of at least above average goaltending.
I'm not close minded to trading Murr, but the imidiate aggregate cap savings need to offset the savings we'd get from moving on from MAF. For example, let's say we keep Murray and sign a 3C at 4 mil. If we trade Murray for a top 3 pick and get a top notch C that can play 3C as soon as next year for a mil and give us 3 elite centers down the Middle moving forward is be ok with that because Flower + new center costs less against the cap than Murray + UFA, and the new center would be a high value asset on par with matt Murray himself.
If a Murray trade isn't bringing back an imidiate impact, cheap, high value center or defenseman, I'm not interested. |

I am thinking long term. Pens have Jarry and Gustafson. Resigning maf would be based on performance. Murray has shown to this point he is injury prone. It would be foolish not to see how much in futures he could bring back. If goaltending is solid without him trading him is thinking about the future. - ChrisMS
Isn't this his first injury. And that's after having 2 years of playoff runs and summmer hockey tournaments |

Not sure if that's a compliment or an insult...
I thought it was nice gesture to our neighbours. If this was the other way around would American sing the Canadian anthem? Would they know the words? |

And that crow pie tastes very good, thank you very much.
Seriously though, we had a point. He ruined Carolina with a string of bad decisions. I have no clue how he's been so good for us. Tale of two GMs. |

I thought his early days were & still do think that. His handling of hiring a coach was a bit haphazard & appeared to be a little desperate at the end. His trades have been questionable in my opinion that have as a majority, had very successful outcomes - Shags, Kessel & Shultz leading the way, but Lovejob & Cole as well. The longer he's been talking the talk, he's been walking the walk as well! Keeping both Flower & Muzza may just be his best yet! |

All in good fun, my man. Just killing time until puck drop. I've been in London this weekend saying goodbye to my girlfriend who's going back to the states so I missed the last two games. Now I'm back in good ol' BLO with nothing to do so I can stay up until 5 am again, and I am beyond excited
Now, that does not mean that if we lose tonight it's my fault... |
