Even if LAK were willing to entertain the idea of a Doughty trade, I think your package would be starting with Skjei and a pair of 1st rounders and growing from there. Stepan's contract is costlier than Brown's is, although he is at least a functional hockey player whereas Brown is nearly useless.

Brown is a good leader but yea he sucks otherwise. I meant those as the blockbuster part of it. Didnt think it's enough. No way they trade Skjei tho, completely defeating the purpose of getting Doughty lol. The problom is they don't have any other Dman young to send back. Maybe Day, not sure how he's valued around the leauge however

We're usually the defenders of players pretty much...I can't defend Holden anymore. I know he had solid moments during the season...but his brain lacks basic hockey sense. Regardless of minutes. He's better off tackling plekanec on that play then doing what he did. Pinching burns people a lot, so I don't even kill him as much as that other play. So your SH for the last 17 seconds, you can at least calm the situation. He panicks all the time. Staal is just old and slow and don't see right lol. I still wonder how he'd be without that eye injury, really sapped everything from him

I would buy them both out but def Staal over G, I agree there

and aarnet they on ice for a lot of those last sec goals
why would A V play Shey /Smith less than Staal & Holden ?
they arent stupid or going on a hunch ..
they watch & see things that trigger these type moves
sitting 3 guys & shortening his bench...
we must assume there are sane reasons ...
his win % proves it & how many times has he started a guy got results
juggled lines & pairs to find something & does....
i said to break up Mac & Gman & go more of a rotation of Mac & any other D opposite him...
using Gman & shey as a 3rd pair Smith & Holden as a pair
combos to break the way they finish or dont finish games ....
