All year I've been saying I can't stand AV and now ppl are seeing why. Get rid of him(unlikely), Stepan and a few others. Bring in some guys that play with some fire.

No that he makes bad decisions, has his favorites and doesn't like the rough stuff. The having his favorites is my biggest gripe with him.

This is totally unfounded. Why? Just because he didn't have a pugilist type in the line up most of the year? When the time came & it was evident we needed more grit he (and Gorton) brought up Glass.

I also said to him...Doughty and Brown, for Stepan and Miller. And give the brinks truck to Doughty next year, instead of Shattenkirk this year. You gotta figure the only way to get Doughty is to take on Brown also. But you also get rid of Stepan money and get a RHD and tremendous leadership (which is ultimately what's lacking with these guys over everything else). Just an idea that I'm sure I'll be made fun of for haha

Its just so much money & it will be on a very long term deal too. I agree about Shatty now, think his stock has dropped but its still gonna be monster offers he gets & we should focus on resigning Smith.

hes better than Shatty no doubt about it but I feel the same way about paying him. We need to poach a young dman from ANA or NASH that will have his best years in NY not somewhere else first

Even if LAK were willing to entertain the idea of a Doughty trade, I think your package would be starting with Skjei and a pair of 1st rounders and growing from there. Stepan's contract is costlier than Brown's is, although he is at least a functional hockey player whereas Brown is nearly useless.

I just don't see any way they blow this up, at least til Hank is gone. In what two more years you figure? The forwards are still the strength, so D is gonna be the off season work to do.
