In a perfect scenario:
1. COL: Anisimov, Panarin, and TvR for Duchene, Zadarov, and Cumpher.
Then
2. NYI: Seabrook and Schmaltz for Brock Nelson - Bjm84

I like Nelson but that's pretty steep. |

Toews and TVR for Kadri and Gardiner. - walleyeb1
Terrible trade.
Toews is good. Very good? Not great anymore? Who knows maybe he snaps out of this funk.
Kadri never was and never will be great. He's a SOB and I'll give him that. Dirty S.O.B. but I digress.
Gardiner is average at best. Seabrook at his cap hit is more worthwhile than that hump.
Hasty. |

I don't know both players really stepped up a level this year and it clears almost $3m in cap space. TVR will never be a Gardiner type player, lots of grit. |

True. about the grit. I can see him wanting big money soon though.
Edit:
NVM. Signed through to 2019. Yeah. Not a bad deal then. At his best he's no Seabrook. But Defensemen are a valuable commodity these days.
I'd deal Panarin for whatever help we can get on the blue line we can get. Seabrook and Keith aren't what they used to be but they're still better than a whole lot of top pairings. |

I'm beginning to wonder if it is all McD calling the shots.......I wonder if he sold Rocky that it is all marketing. |

Hard to market two first round outs. Harder still to market not making the playoffs! |

The Hawks are beyond doomed.
The guys that need to be traded can't because of their NTC/NMC - Toews, Seabrook, Anisimov, Crawford, Hossa, and Keith.
The guys that can be traded because of limited trade clauses or no clauses at all only hurt the team to lose - Hjalmarsson, Panarin, Darling (who was dealt).
Stan in completely inept and cannot make a decent hockey trade to save his job. Plus he has crippled the team by overpaying 19, 88, 15, 7, and 50. Not to mention all the NMC/NTCs.
Q is a line juggler who won't play young guys and has lost the room. His best friend was fired so he will no longer be fully vested into the team.
The rookies and prospects are AHL fodder at best, there is no help on the horizon.
That leaves the team with an aging, past their prime "core" that's shown they don't care anymore and a totally incompetent GM who painted the team in a corner by overpaying these same losers and giving them no trade clauses. As fans we're stuck with this garbage and we have to watch as this slow painful decline continues. - DarthKane

interesting way of Jammer characterizing the Hawks' lack of grit on CSN's Hawks Talk a week ago: The Hawks missed a guy like Andrew Shaw "who dragged the rest of the team to battle" so that they would play "in a way they're not comfortable of playing." |

I understand, but what I was talking about was trading players for marketing purposes.
Maybe Stan understands that trading a high-priced core is needed for the overall good of the organization, but I wonder if McD doesn't allow that. |

shaw was their best player in last year's playoff vs the blues...he was a great source of energy and having knack for being in the picture when the big goal was scored; he went to the net, got the snot beat out of him..hawks do miss him...but at 4 mildo per = no way...

I'm guessing that 15's wingers took home major hardware 2015-2016 doesn't mean much to you, but the Bread-15-88 line dominated and carried the team this year too, before Anisimov got hurt. trading the only guy that brings out the best in 88 doesn't make your team better.
Keith might be a different story. Tallon drafted him and he might agree to go to FLA. His minutes will be missed but clearly his poor play around the net and inability to get the point shot through makes him expendable. yea he got 40+ assists, but the 1st PP unit was not effective all year, and inconsistent last year, and completely disappeared in this year's playoffs. No team fear'd the Hawks shorthanded, inviting a host of abuse to any of the top 6, including 19 all season. Those hits in addition to the extra games played in the "cash grab" tournament took the life out of Toews by season end.
No matter who of the core you trade, the team doesn't get better. Can Toews be traded? 10.4M cap drop would go along way as well as a player or 2 and a pick in return. Winterpeg would be a good partner. Gretzky was traded, remember? |

Totally. Holtby and Bobrovsky are in danger of developing reputations of being great regular season goalies and playoff busts. |
