Trade Seabrook to Vancouver for the rights to Gudbranson. Vancouver needs a vet to help with the rebuild, and we could probably sign Gudbranson for 4M a year. |

I like Gudbranson a whole bunch because he is an extremely nasty piece of work on the blueline, but he's had some injuries. If Dale had been in charge at the time in Florida instead of the idiot analytics bean counters, he would have never made that trade with Vancouver.
I doubt the Hawks or Canucks would want to do that deal for Seabrook. Myself, I would rather keep Seabs and add Gudbranson to the mix by trading somebody else for him. (I don't know why, but sending Panarin to Vancouver sounds like a good idea to me). |

Yup. It was me. I think they should ask everyone for a list or whether they would be willing to waive, depending on what their contract says. They have the cover of McD's ire (Stan and Q's butts on the line) and the poor playoff performance, can say that no option will be ruled out (which is the truth, I believe). - Marlowe
That's a great idea. |

Everybody's got their trade mojo going on and speculating who's going here and there. The biggest problem is you're dependent on finding a willing trade partner. Period. They're out there. But as we all know, nobody really wants to help the Hawks. But if that happens, then you have to hope that a deal can be made to help both teams. It might not be the Hawks ideal move, but Stan's against the wall and everybody knows it. We might be stuck with a less than even exchange for someone that we don't want to see go. IMO this off-season is how Stan's GMship will be remembered. Let us pray! |

Limited options barring a big move. If there are some internal team issues, someone will agree to a trade. |

Jimmy Hayes - DarthKane
Jimmy.... a guy I thought we did not handle well. Hayes could have used some more time in Rockford. So for giggles.. if we keep Jimmy, I think Kevin Hayes signs and Vesey signs. A 3rd line of Vesey Hayes Hayes.... |

Ryan Dzingel was a 7th round pick for the Senators and has been a fixture in the Top 6 throughout his rookie year for Ottawa. Considering the amount of Illinois hockey talent Stan has drafted over the past few years, he definitely missed on Dzingel. Not sure how bc Dzingel lit it up at Ohio State his entire career.... |

I think it was Marlowe who said yesterday that the best thing they could do is ask EVERY player with an NMC/NTC for a list of 10 teams to which they would willingly go. (Not sure legal under their contracts, but whatever.) Then, you're not making it clear to just one or two guys that they are less important/no longer in the team's plans. - pdx2ord
They will not waive just like Crawford did not.
The other option would be to wait till CBJ let Tortotella go at some point and bring him to Chicago. After he yells enough at players, this country club environment will dissipate and maybe they will be willing to waive NMC in futile hope to find this country club environment somewhere else

He could prove to be useful. With mentorship and a limited role.
Price can't be too steep.
Since we're stuck with Q for another RS at least, he'd fit his mold for ideal player to eat up ungodly minutes. Slow.
I still say new HC is the best way to spice this team up. I remain unconvinced that Toews suddenly sucks. That Keith and Seabrook are more interested in murder she wrote than championship hockey.
New game plan. New structure. Invigorated athletes. |
